I think this is what is going on. It was really a sh*t OL crop, but a good db crop. They need one more db signing to make this a decent FA season. Maybe they can find a decent tackle through trade, but I doubt it. I think they are gonna try and stumble through next year on OL and try to draft OT high in next year's draft. Calling Rick Smith a scape goat would imply that he has no fault in this. He sucked as well as Bob.

They are better off playing 3 ILB with Dylan Cole anyway.

I'm venting because we finally have a Franchise QB after 15+ yrs of existence and we haven't addressed the LT position, which should have been NEED 1A, 1B and 1C! Sure FA and the Draft is not over but to waste $3M on a SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER PISSED ME OFF!

Don't blame them Lamar Miller is a good back. Hopefully, Foreman can bounce back. No running back was going to do real well behind last year's line. Maybe we will see marginal improvements in the new scrubs they've brought in. Get another DB and hope they get lucky with somebody serviceable getting cut or traded from another team at OT. Unless they pull a rabbit out of the hat, all they can hope for is that defense can carry them to a mediocre record, and pray Watson doesn't get ruined.

Gaine is unwilling to play in a market that is underwhelming.

Another team having a “bad” offseason is the Patriots.

All I’m saying is, sure there are needs out there but passing on a Nate Solder at that money is a good move.

It is a good move only if you have a competent LT. We'll see what they do but I'd rather overpay for my LT then put my QB at risk by throwing mediocrity out there.

Going to need a high 2nd rounder for that to happen. Maybe a late 1st even. Dont let the poor combine and pro day fool you.

I feel like the people complaining that we’re not overpaying average players would be the first people complaining about the average players being overpaid.

    No.

Nobody with a brain misses Rick Smith except his media lackeys and those who played with him in his extracurricular activities.

I'll tell you what, we'll donate Slick Rick to your Rockets. (Say goodbye to James Harden).

Yeah...better to do what you can with the OL and not put a ton of money into a guy like Solder. Get honey badger or gaines, maybe value shop for a TE (Martellus Bennett), then give Clowney his money.

This is a good year to "get our house in order". The new GM won't be under pressure to win immediately, and we will all be happy with just getting our franchise QB back on the field. Use this as a growth year, lock up some of our best players for the long term, and add the final pieces next offseason.

    Too much risk.

I'd rather pay a premium to get Mathieu on a front loaded contract and shift Kareem over to SS.
