While I was doing housework today I put on 1995 Finals Game1. I hadn't rewatched, or relistened to the whole game, since it happened. Still one of the greatest games in Rockets' history and still got chills watching the Drexler and Smith lead the comeback from 20 down, the gutsy 3 Kenny hit at the end of regulation and even jumped up and down when Hakeem tipped in the ball in OT to seal the win.

It was also pretty weird to listen to Bob Costas talk about the Magic as the future dynasty.

Here's to seeing another thrilling NBA game 1 with the Rockets this year!

My favorite moment was after Dream's tip. He raises his arms after he realized he won the game. He knew the repeat was on from that point. One of my favorite memories for sure.

I can not believe that it has been 23 years since the last championship. It was a great time to celebrate on Richmond Avenue.

Seeing the frustration of Nick Anderson missing those free throws , gave me a bit of hope, Kenny hits the 3, wow.

On the first play of the game the commentator pointed out that we weren’t a good offensive rebounding team.

Then we win the game on an offensive rebound:D

Its a shame that Penny got injured, He and Shaq could have knocked off Jordan a year or two early and have been a dynasty.

Still can't believe the 4 straight missed free throws from Anderson, changed the complexion of the whole series. Even Shaq would have probably made one...

I think the Rockets would have won 4-1 if he made a free throw

Robert Horry had a monster series too. He did everything , blocks, steals, 3s, rebounds

I still go back and watch these games from time to time. I remember them like they were yesterday. That team was so good, so unselfish. It was a very good brand of basketball the Rockets were playing. That team got on such a roll I’m not sure they could have been beaten in a 7 game series.

Sidenote: Go back and watch the previous championship. Everyone always talked about it being ugly ball with the grind it out D. I couldn’t disagree more. The Rockets and Knicks were playing on such a high level it’s crazy.

Nick the Brick. The biggest individual choke I’ve ever seen.

I actually feel bad for Nick now (not at the time though). He was never the same after that. Magic were predicted to be the next dynasty but ended up spiraling downward.
