Id put money that When ever Wright plays, probably tomorrow or most likely monday on the back to back he is going to earn minutes! Doesnt make sense to limit someone that athletic and long to playing only back to backs when our back up center is a declining 34 year old
MDA must end his stubbornness. Wright needs to play in as many minutes as he can right away. We need him in the playoffs.
I think sometimes you guys are the stubborn ones. First you complain MDA needs to open up his rotation to 8-9 players. After the first game of him playing 10 guys, you're already complaining about Wright getting more minutes. You do understand not everybody's gonna play right? I wanna see Wright play too, but I'm fine with Capela & Nene. If Zhou Qi was here you'd complaining how he needs to play too. The saga never ends.....
Wright will be fine. Solid vet, well liked in league. His job is to set good screens, play defense and finish. He’s pretty good at all of the above.
Shaq backed down Ewing, Mourning, Dream, Robinson, Malone, Yao and others. He did not have just one move. Shaq came into the league at the end of the greatest era of big men.
Not sure if anyone responded to your post Rockets play back to backs (Sun/Denver....Mon/Utah).....both mile high altitudes practically. Look for Capela/Wright to get most mins Sunday. Capela did such a great job vs Jokic the last time Rockets and Denver met. Jokic had 14 points and 7 rebs and was a (minus 24) Capela was 23 points and 25 rebs and was a (plus 31) Nene might be needed more vs Gobert on Monday.
I was thinking the same thing...it's like, dude, the team is winning like the franchise has never experienced before, the rotation has been expanded, Wright *just* got here and they've won 11 games in a row.
If Nene is declining, then what is Wright? Dude is about as inconsistent as they come, and I can't help but think that there is some backup QB syndrome going on here. You simply cannot count on the guy, and he has proven that over and over again. Nene is farrrrrrrr superior, ESPECIALLY when the playoffs roll around. Not so BWright is injury insurance.
go to move does not equate to one move Shaq ran the floor when he was young and got great position by beating those greats down the court. This is why Hakeem gave him such fits. Hakeem could keep up and Hakeem was smarter and more polished. Later in his career, Shaq didn't out run but rather our muscle. It was after those greats were either gone or declining. People forget how unpolished Shaq was early. He used athleticism and quickness. It was only after the greats weren't so great that he put on weight and backed down. And again, he didn't have to bang away 3 or 4 times then. He got position, threw his back into the defender and quickly shot his hook while the defender tried to recover. I'm old enough to have watched his whole career. I was a big fan of the Magic Shaq and had his poster on my wall.
Agreed. Nene is vital come playoff basketball when it gets physical and there's more half court basketball.
The guys gripping about Wright not playing Friday need to chill. The guy just got here and our depth is amazing. He'll be on the court eventually, maybe the next game. We all want to see what Wright has left in the tank.
GG was playing basketball in his backyard for 1/2 season and no complains , if I see BWright in a month at least I will survive . Coach will find him spot in rotation too, just be patient . That headache coaching staff have is not going away, and I don't think they are looking for medication to treat it.
You said Shaq did not have to back up defenders (shoulder or butt, it's still backing somebody down in low post) and I said you were wrong. Whether he threw up the baby hook or dunked it he still backed opposing centers down low.
Jokic is a lot mor physical player than Gobert. I rather Nene play this game and Wright plays against the Jazz.
