Josh helped us over the Mavs and even more so against the Clippers in ‘15. Fast forward three years and we’re getting another former Hawks star who showed up in the playoffs and burned the Clippers. How great would it be if we get Joe to be a hero for us too Watching last year’s playoffs footage it’s obvious his playoff experience and ability to step up and go iso on guys can be key for us! I’m sure CP3 and Mbah remember him, the latter got burned on drives and post ups, basically on iso plays. We will have three iso guys, what an amazing time to be a Rockets fan
Josh Smith or even Steve Novak to back up Ryno would have made more sense. Yes Novak can paly team defense when properly motivated. There's enough ball handling with Gordon that a washed up Johnson we won't see any court time. Wright was the only need.
No. Only Josh Smith can be Josh Smith. The one and only. Never forget. Maybe Joe Johnson can be our Joe Johnson.
Dude just can't move out there. We got the last hurrah of Smooth, and we need to remember him as a Rocket Hero, but his time is in the past.
Josh Smith 32 yrs age is actually 4 years junior to Joe Joe but he surely does not play like it in recent years.
I think I see more parallels between Gerald Green and Josh Smith. Both have been known for freakish athleticism and questionable decision making. Both can get hot and single-handedly determine the outcome of a game. But when they're off they are sooooooo off.
Didn't think this would be picked apart like this. I'm not sayin they are similar at all. The only reason I compare them is they were both All-Stars playing together for the Hawks and how they have played important roles in the play-offs (against the Clippers). Not so serious fellas
The more I watch Green the more I realize why he was on his couch for the first 3 months of the season; but I could see him working as a JR Smith/Zach Lavine type of player, able to cut to the rim and shoot 3s (as well as being a cheat code in 2K). I hated the Smoov pickup tho, he played no defense and only wanted to shoot long 2s. Luckily for us he had his best 3 point shooting series of his career (where he shot league average).
Wow, sad..more nitpicking, really?? Just because he was never voted in, doesn't mean he didn't play like one.
Joe will play the backup 4 like he has the last two seasons. He's a knock-down three point shooter who can score when our other players get stopped. It's a great add.
Yes nitpicking, they were all-star talent, I don't care about that meaningless game and how that makes you one. Dragic will never be seen as All-Star talent for example and plenty of guards in the 90s like BJ Armstrong neither.
