The rockets are soft overall. Yes, we have Nene and PJ Tucker, but they do not swing the pendulum. We don't scare anyone. We get pushed around on the boards and don't intimidate anyone. This latest episode of going into Clipper's locker room is just embarrassing. 1) we loss, 2) we're not built to be tough - its not in our DNA. The league is laughing; they media will have a field day with this one.
Get some real injury targeting thugs on this team. League getting too soft. Little b****es like Blake suddenly getting bold.
there was plenty of fight dude they just couldnt execute anything on offense. it's stagnant and flawed when all we do is chuck.
My sauces tell me that Ariza wanted to sing his line in the State Farm commercial “Tell me why” CP3 and the others were was just giving their support. Singing new lines from that Backstreet Boys song. On their faces.
I'm mainly talking about the defensive end, that's where real toughness takes place. I understand shots will not fall all the time and the team can look like a bunch of chuckers when the shots aren't falling but the Clips were looking mighty comfortable on the offensive side of the ball last night. They were wide open far too often, blowing by our defenders at times, etc. The effort on that side of the ball is soft and a disgrace too often. I thought a guy like Tucker would help in the area of toughness but it's hard when he's just not a good ball player overall at this point (too fat and slow to stop good perimeter players, too small to stop bigs on top of having no jump shot).
I hate to say it, but this is true. Of course, the NBA as a whole is much softer than it used to be, but we are certainly one of the softer teams among an increasingly less physical league. Nene and Tucker are tough players, but their roles aren't big enough and their voices aren't loud enough to change the identity of the team. This is where we miss Bev. We could use one of those players that everyone loves to hate until they are on your team.
