It's going to be interesting to see if Chris Paul makes it as a reserve. 5 Guards: Harden Curry Westbrook Thompson ???? Paul / Lillard / Butler / If "team record/success" is a deciding factor, I would have to think Paul gets that last spot assuming continue level of play and health.
Wow, this could be the first time I can remember where I have no big gripe with the fan vote for starters. At best, there are only minor arguments from me. James giannis Embiid Irving Derozan Check Durant Davis Green Curry Harden Check Possible argument is Oladipo v Derozan, but Toronto has a surprising record, so. And yeah, yeah, we can hate on Green, but 7.6 apg and DPOY defense would be something I vote for if he were on another team. And I'm sure those SAS fans would have Kawhi over Green anyhow, if it weren't for injury.
How important is "team success" to everyone in terms of getting an All Star spot? Should a team with a crappy record or mediocre record get 1 or even 2 all star spots based on their play? Even if stats are good, but winning isn't quite there? Would you be ok with the Pelicans getting Davis/Cousins if the Rockets only got 1 spot? Will OKC get 2 players with George & Westbrook? Would Rockets fans be ok with that if the Rockets only got 1 player? Will the Warriors place 4 players? Likely. Spurs will get only 1 spot in LMA. Wolves will likely get at least 1 player - Butler or KAT. But 2? Will Denver get anyone? Jokic? How about the Blazers? Will Lillard get in over Paul?
There's an unlikable quality to his demeanor and his game isn't good enough to transcend that unattractiveness.
Well if all of cp3 fans voted he would have more votes same as harden he has a million followers if they all just made one vote for harden and Paul it would be a big help
Dame will always be irrelevant playing in Portland...nobody watches or cares about them, and they’re mediocre at best he’s just there wasting away his prime if I were him I’d try to pull a Kyrie Irving after the season is over and force my way up out of there if he were in a place like NY and made them a playoff team playing next to Kristaps he’d be far more relevant for example and would make the All Star game in the East no problem
And how about CJM? I wonder what he would be like if he had his own team? Perhaps having a season like Oladipo.
isn't the top vote getter from each conference picking the roster? and the rest of the votes meaningless?
the starting roster is picked by fans (50%), coaches (25%), and media (25%). The captains (voted by fans) get to pick their teams from the selected starters regardless of which conference they are from. its no longer east v west. http://www.nbcsports.com/boston/boston-celtics/nba-all-star-teams-be-picked-team-captains
