They're ok but no where near the best in Austin. Couple of mom-and-pop places around town but I've been away long enough that I can't remember names. Was one a mile from my house in Round Rock that I used to go to 4-5 times a week. Villa Arcos and Texas Tacos & BBQ on Telephone Rd (relatives of the Villa Arcos people, IIRC) are my favorites on the east side. Pappas BBQ, for as mediocre as their bbq is, makes a damn good breakfast taco. Just wish they'd be open for breakfast on the weekend. Not too many options in The Woodlands. I don't mind Torchy's. There's a new place called Taco Nation that's not bad.
I'm in Houston and there is one on I think WestPark and West houston Road That Gas Station is legit. There is also one on Westheimer near Synott Rocket River
I've never been much of a breakfast taco guy, but this thread is turning me. I'm in Cypress, where do I go?
I drive though bacliff every morning and every building on Grand sells breakfast tacos. Even the lawfirm.
Tornado Taco in Mo City is pretty good. Very greasy though, which is almost expected because the building is basically a shack that has a drive-thru. The Tacodeli on Washington Ave is enjoyable. Almost the exact opposite of Tornado Taco. Tacos taste very clean and the building is very nice. I like Torchy's too. I can take or leave their breakfast tacos, but I absolutely crave the Diablo Sauce.
Titas Taco House in Humble. Houston Press best breakfast tacos 2016. I live in Atascocita and eat there about once a month. Probably the best I have had. C&D grocery in Baytown was also good but it burned down last week.
There is a place in Los Angeles called Homestate. It's run by a Texan. Their breakfast tacos are amazing. The best thing about them is their handmade tortillas. It's as good as the best I've tasted in even in Texas. https://la.eater.com/2016/2/19/11065188/homestate-breakfast-tacos-tex-mex-los-angeles
That's the key. Breakfast tacos are pretty simple. You can't have a good taco of any kind without a good tortilla and good salsa.
Soliz Casa De Tacos on Dulles in Stafford got the best breakfast tacos. Can't go wrong with an Eric aka potatoes eggs cheese and guac
98% of the time its a greasy mess. 2% of the time, the flavors arent all that good to put up with that gritty excuse of a meat.
