Rockets coaches and management need to have a sit down with Anderson right now. This is how I imagine it would go.
I think it’s a combination of things. He’s not getting the same spacing he did like last year on his shots. Last year when he’d come set the screen for Harden it seemed like he’d get open quicker and have more time for his release at the 3. Now it seems like either the defense is rotating faster on him or he’s just not getting as open. He’s not quick enough to run around screens to get an open shot like Korver or Reddick and he doesn’t have the handles to make a move on offense. So literally for him it’s an open 3 or nothing. And fortunately for the defense that’s a W. Love Ryno but something’s gotta change.
Anderson's contract may singlehandely cost us a championship during Harden's peak years. Morey is great, but this was the mistake of a lifetime.
if we could flip Anderson for the disgruntled Nicola Mirotic, that would be the steal trade of the year.
Sad, but true. I really want to see him turn this slump around and start knocking down 3's to shut up all the haters, and give our team what he is being paid to do.
This man here. I like this man. I say the Rockets have to get it done ASAP. Is this even possible? The Bulls are most definitely in tank mode, and Ryan Anderson's contract becomes much less ridiculous after this season.
Nah man, the Bulls will probably trade Mirotic (if there's someone interested) but they would have no interest in Anderson, unless we send them a couple of 1st rounders of course.
At this point .. . .the only reason I would NOT do it. . . cause that #1s maybe needed for a *shot* at LeBron Rocket River
Definitely, even though Ryan would've to be a part of the same package so, a 1st will probably not be enough.
According to stats.nba.com, he attempts 5.9 open or wide open threes per game this year, last year, this number was 6.9, so just a difference of 1. The problem is, this year his open(not wide open) 3P% is only 30.9%, while last year it was 43%. In the last 10 games, his open 3P% was 20%, and wide open 3P% was 26.7%, that's worse than Corey Brewer last year. Yeah, in the last 10 games, Ryan Anderson is not as "good" a three point shooter as last year's Corey Brewer, that's just insane. It has to be mental, he looks very unconfident and indecisive when he has open looks.
Yeah, i mean, tbh, i don't even know what to think...Mirotic has a 12M team option and i don't think we'll keep him if Lebron or another top player will come, but if not, Mirotic at 12M for another year wouldn't be bad i guess, and at the same time we would have a similar player to Ryan to play this season and a better contract to trade/dump next summer. I wonder though, if two future 1st rounders would be enough, i'm not exactly a great fan of Mirotic, but he's playing well and the contract is interesting and team friendly, it's possible they're asking a 1st for him, add Anderson (which would probably cost two 1st rounders like few months ago) and you need three picks, that's a lot...probably too much.
I don't know, probably guys like Holiday, Davis were often injured, but they were a 34-48 team so...yeah.
different situation and game plan. that was 5 years ago and he played just 22 games. 7 more shot attempts back then as well
