This would be the first move i make if I'm a GM. I'm trying to accumulate players for a broke down body to be super bowl champs.

His contract alone makes it impossible.

Texans either get a semblance of production from him when he comes back, or he will likely retire.

At least the broken leg allowed his back to hopefully get better. He never looked right this season.

Yeah I don’t see anybody taking on that contract unless Watt returns to at least 75% of his old self but at that point we should keep him.

JJ won't be traded. First, he's coming off of two straight injury plagued years. No team will want to risk he can play given the size of his contract. Second, Watt's efforts both on and off the field in Houston give him more rope to try and return to being a productive player. Watt's work ethic, heart, and sheer desire to be great is what won him 3 DPOY trophies. He's still young, 29 next May and hopefully can return to 75-80% of his best years. That would make our defense (with Clowney, Mercilus, McKinney, Cunningham, etc.) dangerous again.

It will be interesting who we bring in as the new GM. Hopefully its someone with experience and who can work with OB. Without a first or second, we're going to need to bring in several FAs in order to right the ship. Our OL can't be a munch of rookies and scrubs for us to be successful next year.

No thanks to that notion. JJ Watt has taken enough time off for his body to recoup from his injuries. He'll be focused this year more than ever. My suggestion to him is try to shed 15 to 20 pounds, and then look out NFL.

I would not be the one who had to cut or trade JJ Watt. Dude is tremendous in the community.

They would get over it once Watson takes the field.

They should switch him to tight end first.

why trade him, when his value right now is the lowest in his career, because he had his 2nd serious injury in a row, he has a huge contract, and no team would give us a high draft pick for him, we only can hope with this rest, he could play at least 70% of his best season.

It would be wild if he moved to TE and became an All-Pro with DW at QB. I know its a fantasy, but that transition would be historical.
