as long as they have 1 of their mvps plus their all nba players it wouldnt matter. now if both kd and steph went down for a significant period of time, we would really see how much that team would drop off and their "rotation"
so there no way we can find and acquire (even just temporarily) any available free agents or call up any g-leaguers better than those three?
The Warriors are what we will be after a great playoff showing brings in all the snakes and ring chasers.
He has built a team that currently sits on top of the league with best offense and defense. Is there any doubt that he is doing everything he can to improve this team? I am sure if there is an opportunity to trade garbage mamba for a better pg for the same salary, we would. Is that unreasonable to think that we have not done because it is not that easy? If they are junk players as you say, why would any other GM take them?
hopefully Morey can pull off another Beverley type signing this season. Some who plays D that can shoot.
in order to beat GSW, in the standings, matchups, and playoffs we need harden to play better than combined 2 of Steph, Klay, or Durant almost every other night. And the only thing stopping Harden from doing that are fatigue and injuries harden is averaging 36 minutes a night while our nemesis has klay 33.5 and steph 32.5 I believe that extra 2 to 3 minutes of rest a night will ensure harden to minimize his injuries and maintain his MVP level and efficient play at both ends specifically 40% + 3 point shooting, low turnovers, quick first step, and best defensive effort thruout his Houston career same with 32 year old Ariza playing 34 minutes a game even if we already have tucker and lma both averegaing only less than 27 minutes a game In order for harden to play at intensity, productivity, and efficiency better than GSW's combined Steph, Klay, and Durant he need to be injury free and well rested
true and GSW did as well while having a deep bench which allows the to maintain elite offense and defense in the regular season and even go even couple notches higher in the playoffs. so him playing 2 to 3 minutes more a game compared to steph and klay already puts him at an disadvantage. he's already carryng a heaveir load than them as is and those extra minutes makes him more prone to fatigue and injury Harden needs to play better than the 2-combination of klay, steph, and kd almost every single night if we to beat tjem in seeding, regular season matchups, and playoffs and gsw has a lot more options.. any single night any at least two of ryno, ego, capela, tucker, and lma are basically MIA and I was talking about strait aquisition and no trade
I think we do need more depth, mostly for insurance because our lineups now can play or beat almost anyone, including GSW. But I won't judge that we are lacking until I see what Morey does by the trade deadline and after buyouts. If we went into the playoffs and after a full season with no more roster changes, I wouldn't be upset, but I would agree that we needed more insurance and depth.
Your conclusion that additional an 2-3 minutes will hurt our chances might just be paranoia. Yes, GS has a good game plan over the years on how to win a ring but that is not the only formula for winning. We don't have to do everything that GS does for us to succeed.
right now Houston has the most limited guard & overall rotation compared to all the other contenders (top 6 teams in the league) Pops does the same thing thats basically Pops (5+ rings) and Kerrs (2 rings) 9+ man rotation in the playoffs is basically what sets them apart from MDA (0 rings) 7 man rotation in the playoffs and Pops resting kawhi 10 games in the season and preparing for injuries especially in the playoffs is not paranoia everyone was ready to step in once Kawhi went down while MDA had to put Harden on LMA & Gasol when Nene went down see the difference? what do you think is allowing harden to shoot efficiently in the 3, have less turnovers, have a faster first step, and have better focus? did he suddenly become better? or because his load has become tremendously lighter?
I don't think that any of the players is averaging an unreasonable # of minutes so far. Harden is playing about 36 mpg, 12th in the league. Ariza is about 34. No one else is above 32. That said, the quality of players 10-15 is kind of a concern. When CP missed games, Gordon+Harden started, and a third guard (Brown, Jackson) would fill in very few minutes in non-blowout games. Same with when Luc went down, the rest of the regulars just played more. Not that it's easy to get quality players when you only have the minimum contract and no guaranteed minutes to offer. But hopefully Morey can find someone via trade or buyout later in the season.
I am an advocate of playing with deeper rotation regular season, but that depth is not there right now. But I believe that Harden did indeed get better in addition to having CP3 share the ball handling duties. Would love picking up a overseas or G league stud too, but would MDA even play them?
basically Cp3 allowed harden to have a lighter load = meaning more energy on other stuff specifically efficient 3pt, low turnovers, faster first step, and better defense and less prone to injury only thing we can ask of james right now is to be able to maintain what he's doin and add a couple of notches in the playoffs that's the philosophy of pops (10 games rest kawhi) and kerr (playng cury and klay<34 minutes a game and resting curry, durant, green now) and 10 game rest last year lebron thats what allows their teams to play the hardest (clap clap) everynight Morey and MDA are paid the big bucks hope they can figure it out
Does Pop and Kerr win the ring every year? It is easy to pick and chose certain traits and make it appear like this is a necessity to winning it all when historically, the formula is very complicated. Having less minutes for everybody can help but the bottom line is that you still have to perform in the playoffs regardless if you are rested or not.
howbout this, name as many players here whom you are sure are not better than and you will never play over Tariq Black and Bobby Brown 1 Kevin Durant 29 23 23 34.5 2 Klay Thompson 27 28 28 33.5 3 Stephen Curry 29 23 23 32.6 4 Draymond Green 27 25 25 32.2 5 Andre Iguodala 34 24 1 26.5 6 Shaun Livingston 32 25 3 15.9 7 Omri Casspi 29 24 5 14.7 8 Zaza Pachulia 33 25 25 14.4 9 Patrick McCaw 22 24 1 13.4 10 Nick Young 32 27 0 13.1 11 David West 37 26 0 12.5 12 Jordan Bell 23 22 3 11.3 13 Quinn Cook 24 6 1 11.2 14 Kevon Looney 21 21 0 9.8 15 JaVale McGee 30 24 2 8.0
