As much as they hate on the Rockets and are declining in quality, the TNT crew still provides the best pre/postgame show on TV. It's not that they are great, it's that everyone else is really boring.
I happen to like TNT's show. Granted it is biased, uninformative, and inaccurate. But that is if you are looking at it as a sport show. I think it is meant to be a comedy show with an NBA theme.
But it's not that funny with Shaq. They had a perfect dynamic when it was EJ, Chuck, and Kenny. You'd get some serious analysis balanced with comedy. Adding Shaq ruined that show.
Charles Broccoli called him toad smith the year we were the 8 seed. And tnt would kill us on the regulars
Shaq killed it. But even without Shaq this show (and its characters) probably should have only been on for a certain amount of time. After a while it gets stale.
Morey's a genius! After seeing how an elite playmaker can compete with the best to carry a team to most wins, not only did he double down on him and gifted him with a max extension, but he tripled down and got another elite playmaker seeing the value of resting his only star in the regular season and value of another elite playmaker in the playoffs
Ernie’s the brains, Kenny’s the looks, Shaq is the muscle. Charles is the Wildcard. Most successful crews have stuck to this dynamic throughout history.
It's Shaq or Barkley and I'd honestly rather have Shaq for comedic relief. Barkley takes WAY to long to say his piece, the entire segment is pretty much over before he's done "thinking through" his thoughts. Kenny's honest and most times spot on. I feel bad for Ernie having to ask Barkley the questions They should replace Barkley/Shaq with a female commentator, maybe a past WNBA star or JVG
Any time Barkley starts out with "now you have to understand...." That means he is about to make up some BS on the spot that he will stand by for the next year or so
We're getting a sneak peak of how the TNT halftime show (at least, the one with Ernie Kenny and Chuck) is going to end. With none of the commentators watching any games, finding themselves unable to keep up with the grind, and Chuck falling asleep on air.
