Cavs are 0-4 in the preseason and yet still a more likely NBA finalist. It's the preseason. Teams don't care much about wins/loses. Its when coaches assess the fitness and strengths/weaknesses of rosters.
Is this a thread used to defend Ryan Anderson the player? Because if it's about his defense he doesn't play any.
He can't get any rebounds either even though he said he wants to improve on that part. I noticed when we shoot the 3, he goes for the rebound but he is never on the right side of the bounce. Also, as a team I noticed we're crappy at rebounding because our players don't jump up to grab the ball. As much as a stat-padder Westbrook was last year, he's always jumping so damn high to get a rebound. Ryno's defense is just terrible. He's just not versatile enough to guard other positions. He even has trouble guarding some 4s because of his weak lower body strength. Melo would've been a huge upgrade over Ryno (he's actually playing proper D for OKC in the pre-season). Ryno's probably going to be almost unplayable against certain teams in the playoffs and is going to be useless if he isn't hitting his shot.
ryan anerson efensive threa fyi melo, like harden, is a capable defender. this crap about him being a terrible defender is similar tune with harden. has to do everythong on offense. and he's not known as someone who plays with all his heart so if he's on a shitty team, he's not gonna give his all. you'll see him play good d this season now that he has a ton of help and will be guarding slower players at the 4, in line with his age.
Lol Rox can win a championship by referring to their preseason record.....like noT Cavs can cruise to their 0-16 defeat and I am still not worried.
Ryan Anderson is ball-stopper bait. Selfish players cannot resist the sights of Ryan's sneaky athleticism any more than Jared Fogel can resist underage girls.
I have to admit i hate on Ryno a ton for his soft play. But these past few games have been awesome from him. He's hustling out there, getting offensive boards and working on D. Really impressive few games in that respect
Here’s a good write up that breaks the numbers down a bit more. Feigen said he dropped 12lbs during the off season. A big part of that improvement Anderson owes to offseason conditioning. According to the Houston Chronicle’s Jonathan Feigen, Anderson lost 12 pounds in the offseason, and the new frame has allowed him to play faster and more nimble so far this year, particularly on defense. I'm convinced u havent watched a game this season. Ryan Anderson's defense has surprisingly good this year. He in fact is rebounding better too. Killing us?
oh boy.. @J.R. out here perpetuating falsehoods.. It's my own fault.. In an effort to state simple facts, I've been branded..
Not to steal @DreamShook spotlight, but I honestly feel great when I see teams try to go 1 on 1 against Ryno. Surprisingly enough, while tuning into the game yesterday as I'm always on the opponent's feed, they even mentioned that Ryno on Marc is not a mismatch. And that he actually guards Marc better than almost any low post defender they've seen. Respect Ryno. And don't act like y'all didn't see him stuff Gasol after the whistle. That was nasty. He took him down WITH THE BALL! SIL
He has been great defensively, he contained Howard, Gasol and so on better than anybody else in our team. I'm pleasently surprised
