A lot of teams aren't terrible anymore and can win games against the "super" teams. And amazingly, the spurs are showing that in fact the law of having talent actually does apply to them, losing 2 games recently. Most teams have something to root for. Only thing that could ruin it is if gs goes on a 25 game winning streak.
It's early man. The "super teams" aren't really trying yet. The regular season means nothing for them.
These teams know how utterly inconsequential these games will be in June. People like to say you can't turn it on and off, but in this sport you most certainly can.
Yeah I feel like this is how it is at the start of every regular season. There are some odd teams on top of the standings but it usually rights itself. With that said, can't take away from these teams starting well. Better to start well than to not. But I don't make much of it.
I remember last season it was the Hawks and I think Charlotte in the East, and in the west people were talking about the Lakers making the playoffs... So yeah, give it time.
Beginning the season well matters. The only time the grizzlies ever started off well like this they ended up winning 55 games. Also, while gs may or may not get it together, it is interesting to note that they have a aging bench, and very little depth. Now will, iggy, west and livingston get it together, and turn back the clock: not sure. Iggy just got paid, and livingston did also. The big 3 are playing good, and they are still losing. Cavs are losing because they dont have kyrie anymore and thomas is hurt. My question is can you beat a superteam with depth? The grizzlies are unique in that they have 2 real stars to go along with their depth, and possibly a 3rd star in chandler.
