Clearly. Yuli shouldn't be crucified, but he shouldn't championed like this either. Alright Yuli let's beat the Dodgers by game 5. You can make it up to everyone by helping us celebrate on our home field lol.
Ben DuBose @BenDuBose Just so everyone knows, my account will be private for a few days due to all the absurdity that is my mentions right now. Thought police are out in full force.
Okay so it's important because it's being talked about a lot. Thanks for reiterating my point. By your logic all celebrity news is "important".
Well said. Don't forget all the idiot "fans" on this forum who were outraged about it. I expect they will call out of work for a week the next time they think a "racist" thought.
He expressed an opinion that Yuli shouldn't be demonized for one act. Shocking that a true Astros fan had the back of one of his players. He didn't condone the act.
He said Yuil should get a standing ovation the day after he went slant eyes on a Japanese pitcher. Give me a freaking break. That's garbage.
He got a meaningless 5 game suspension at the start of next season. Excessive? Arguable, but the punishment isn't tough at all. It's a nice slap on the wrist that doesn't really hurt anyone. Much much preferable to a one game WS suspension. Yeah, he shouldn't be demonized. But championing and applauding him for it isn't the right way to go about it either. I'm sure Ben had good intentions with that tweet, but it's not the right thing to do in this situation. Like we can all agree that Yuli isn't a racist but still admit he ****ed up and flashed a racist gesture. Also for your own health and sanity, Twitter is really not a medium you're going to want to follow. Literally just filled with trolls lol.
Really am fed up with the whole “PC” movement we are all subjected to in this world. As a believer in Jesus Christ, I will not be PC or tolerate the immoral compass that embodies the left media, workplace etc. People these days just can’t get over themselves.
That's not what he is being criticized for. But this is the nature of today's world. Say something to offend people...whether it be racially toned or about the flag and people go nuts. Race flags kneeling emails it doesn't matter... Every side has its group ready to jump in. We are not an understanding country when it comes to anything political or cultural.
Yuli, Darvish, and MLB all handled this extremely well IMO. Also, I love @The Cat but I feel he got a bit emotional and a bit too homer-y to see the bigger picture in this instance with a few of his comments.
No one is “championing” what Yuli did. But it’s harmless and it became something out of nothing. Just let it go (not you). As the saying goes, “There are bigger fish to fry”
By the way, we (humans) are ALL fallen and flawed. We are ALL racist and prejudice about something. Anyone who claims otherwise deceives themselves. It’s funny how the loudest people wanting to be tolerated are the ones that are completely against the grain in a bad way.
