UPDATE: Blog post... Rockets bring back old friend in Isaiah Canaan http://rockets.clutchfans.net/10637/rockets-bring-back-isaiah-canaan/ ------- Contract.
He'll be playing alongside Beard or EG most of the time, so his value lies in his ability to space the floor for them as a catch-and-shoot threat.
That sucks, Jackson is already better than Canaan! Infact, he already is better at playing the NBA pace than Canaan even though Canaan has spent more time at the level. Canaan is overhyped.. which is crazy considering most already see him as a scrub. He isn't an NBA caliber player, and the mass belief around here that he has a 'shot' is a myth. Dude's shot is absolutely average at best.
Hey, I'm no challenger of insiders, but much of the internet has been questioning Woj's accuracy this year. I'm just piling on. pls don't single me out. Sure, Woj could have been right, "And things changed" in just 24 hours. But maybe it's another sign of him being wrong frequently this year....it's fun to discuss, anyhow. Not like we can hurt his Rep any....no need to White Knight for Woj, like we do our bbs insiders. I don't get it; What happened last night in a collapse with 6minutes left that would have Morey pound the table and say, "Forget what I said yesterday. We need a 4th guard, FA signing NOW." Further, that's a non-guaranteed 1yr minimum deal. It was probably already on the table (after OKC cut him) and took that long for us to exhaust other options and Canaan to rise as our final choice. too much about this points to Woj sources goofed again, this year. But his Rep can handle it. Remember, he went from saying "Rockets are hunting" (Correct) to the Briante signing "Rockets' hunt on hold, keeping spot open" (Wrong) to "Canaan signed" (Original Tweet Validated) in 24 hours. I think he asked someone about the Briante signing, and they concluded it meant Rox were on hold, when in fact, Woj's first tweet was still active...and took that long for Canaan to rise to our final choice. anyhoo, no biggie, just piling on Woj for fun. #TeamShams
This is all true but the fact is there aren't a lot of NBA veterans willing to sign non guaranteed deals to be potential back up PGs. Please no one say Monte Ellis.
Not "white knighting" woj, just saying circumstances change and that sometimes dictates a course of action.
