This signing shows how Harden is good.
    DM:James -CP3 ?
    JH:Sure.
    DM:James -Briante?
    JH: Who? Will take him.
TF: Why am I paying Boby?

He can't shoot worth a hoot for sure. Needs a whole summer working with a great shot coach to change that. Won't be able to fix it inter-season.

    However

He's quicker and faster than Beverley and he's a better pure defender than Beverley. But he lacks Bev's advanced psychological tactics. If he ever gets ahold of Bev's nasty and he gets a jump shot he'll be very very good.

In any case he's a top 7 point defender in the Association as is right now. And has more winning impact on court than Demetrius has at present.

6 teams in 2 years. Don't be too high on this guy, he doesn't have a 3pt shot. Gonna take him a couple years to develop one like Bev if he plays for us.

Lost in that article is Woj somewhat saying his previous tweet about signing 15-man roster guards is on hold.

For now, the Rockets are planning to hold on to the roster flexibility and keep a spot open, league sources said. -- Woj

There is reason why these guys aren't on a NBA roster....however this guy seems to be a better fit then Jackson IMO..

To your credit you pointed him out for some time.

The rockets have always felt you can teach shooting easier than anything else and believe that they find better value in prospects who can't shoot but do other things very well

Bledsoe makes 14 million a year. Can the rockets get creative for another guard off the bench?

That's what they are doing. Weber is nothing If not creative.

We need to find a Beverley replacement. Jackson's defense was very active and encouraging. Hope either he or Weber can pan out. A 3 and D point guard can't be that hard to find, can it?

Shouldn't we find the next CP3 before finding the next Bev?

Apparently not. We've taken a pass on both Frank Mason and Tyus Jones recently.

Briante Weber's defensive reputation stems from his time in college, not really so much as a pro. Ask a Grizzlies or Hornets fan (combined 19 games on those teams) if he's actually a great defender; a lot of posters on reddit are already saying Weber's defensive capabilities are overhyped.

Bev wasn't on an NBA roster until we brought him back. Sometimes diamonds slip through when you have a whole crap load of gravel.

If u squint ur eyes watching DJax then he looks like pat Bev that’s the only similarity. Other than that, I am a big Webber Fan tho. But he reminds me of Courtney Fortson a little bit

I don't really buy that excuse. This business makes money with or without him, with or without excellent management. If he doesn't spend, it's because he's cheap not because he needs it to maintain profit margin.

However, I'm not willing to make that definitive assessment yet. Not enough info. But something to keep an eye on imo.
