Are we gonna have a thread for every random player that enters the market? How would Green get minutes here? He's not needed.
see the explanation by @RockWest after your post. Josh was the highest paid Piston when the buyout/waive occurred. Had they kept him, they would have paid tax the next year ... and worse the year Drummond signed for Max.
What would be the appeal of getting Green? Genuinely curious. My inclination would be to pass on him because he doesn't stand out in any particular area of the game, besides being athletic and 6'8".
Um, no he's not. And even if he were nearly as good as Tucker, let's not forget Gerald's little "lost weekend" in South Beach. Cops called because "someone" was out of his mind in a condo complex, teammates had to get involved, then Gerald takes a leave of absence from the team for a while for "personal reasons." I'm sure Morey already knows what happened because it's probably common knowledge with the players and GMs. I trust him to see whether there's anything left of all that potential Green had a few years back.
Ah I remember in the 2008 dunk contest Gerald Green signing and giving Dawkins his shoes right before he did his no shoes dunk only to have them end up on the floor. Can't find a clip though lol.
Last dunk in this video of the competition. I set the start to the dunk when he blows out the candle on a cupcake. That was really fun.
Oh yea I saw that clip but couldn't find the segment of Dawkins throwing the shoes. It was really savage haha!
Good for Gerald Green, he was out of the league entirely. He managed to improve his game enough to get back in the league and make like 15 million dollars. But he sucks, he's a walking personification of the stupid athlete. Just because he's now a competent shooter doesn't change the litany of other shortcomings he has. Ariza,Tucker, and Mbah a Moute are all better, and Williams provides some upside.
Monte Ellis and Gerald Green are 2 good FA's that HOU should consider before OKC, GS, or CLE pick them up.
