Oh MY GOD. You want to have a discussion? Go ahead. Show us how much you really do care and talk about what changes you want to see to make this country better for everyone.

    Go ahead, solve this problem.

Also, tell me the right way to protest that sufficiently kisses your ass so you're not offended. Please, do tell.

Further to your point, this is household income which has grown from 1965 to 2012 but the number of workers per household has increased substantially as more and more women have entered the workforce. The increase of income per working person has been quite stagnant, particularly since the early 1980s.

Yeah, I'll say that equating you to the real "race baiters" around here is pretty off base.

You are outraged and fed up. You care. You'd like to see things get better. Maybe for tha dude, you are too harsh and judgmental, but your aim (in my view) is not to make people angry for the sake of making them angry.

The real race baiters (and they are legion) literally just want to rile people up so they can sit back and giggle. Some of them may be actual racists, but in effect, it doesn't matter. They act like racists, so what's the difference?

I'll dedicate this to duder over there. Hope it doesn't hurt his feelings. In fact I could post this 95% of the time one of the usual suspects is showing evidence of hysteria due to a protest that offended their ideal of America.

“I must make two honest confessions to you, my Christian and Jewish brothers. First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to ‘order’ than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: ‘I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action’; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a ‘more convenient season.’ Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.”

You need to stop acting like other people don't care, for one thing. Secondly, I never mentioned anything about your right to protest or anyone elses right. I fully support anyone who wants to exercise their 1st amendment rights, even if it is to protest the anthem and I've never said otherwise.

Also, solving wealth disparity and poverty isn't just a white or black issue, it's an economic issue.

See, this is part of the problem. You want to box people out from having an opinion and you stop all conversation. A whole lot of good that has done us over the years, no?

When you ask people to respond to posts like this (about "the problem") and your only intention is to berate them for being "racist" - that is the definition of race-baiting.

If you care then act like you care. The precipitating cause of that wealth disparity is what?

Then properly explain the appropriate delicate response to account for your fragility in discussing "the problem". We can't discuss race in the abstract like some of you want to do in order to make yourselves feel comfortable with the discussion. The data is there for you to read it so go read it. Educate yourself.

I just posted a huge quote on this, go read it.

    You just said this.

If I'm pointing out racism by white people which is the racism that is most a problem to minorities like me then that's hating on white people. Do you not see the catch 22 you have created? I'm Latino and white, so I guess I'm hating on myself by your logic.

Is this some rhetorical joke on your part?

Here, let me help. The cause of wealth disparity in this county is due to white people.

I think what Comets wants is a socialist society where we all make the same whether you work hard everday or just sit on your ass, smoke weed and eat Cheetos.

If I were to guess, (and its just a guess) I would start with looking at who is participating in investing in todays stock market and who isn't.

My father has told me that he remembers having to enter restaurants from the rear entrance with his mother as a child.

He also remembers black and white water fountains and the day the schools desegregated. He said it was the first time he ever had milk.

    Jobs. Jobs matter.

And it's education that may very well determine the kind of jobs you have in life, and how much they pay.

I think the solution is to change attitudes from one that sees "American" as a pejorative to one that sees "American" as the hallmark of success.

The most prolific sector of the US economy over the past 35 years, the one that has generated enormous wealth and created many jobs, is the technology/internet-based sector of the economy.

When you look at the companies who have benefited the most from this sector or within this sector, you'll see that they primarily hire "white" and "asian" people. If workers are too expensive or they can't find the right-someone at the moment, they can go elsewhere in the world to find workers to fill in their needed roles. And again, these are primarily "white" and "asian" workers.

So, probably no surprise that the chart you posted looks the way it does.

The trend in wealth and salary dates way before the internet and some tech economy.

But anyway, following your notion... schools that lack funding are less likely to provide a high tech education. The funding mechanism for schools is based on property taxes. This system reinforces racial segregation. So it's a catch 22 of inequality. X people who are disproportionately poor then have a disproportionately poorly funded school system that perpetuates income/wealth inequality if education is the manner in which people are able to earn more income. There are multiple metrics that fall along a historical line of cause and effect, single parent families come to mind, when it comes to income/wealth.

I'm just going to put you on ignore. I gave you data and challenged you for an idea and instead of addressing it you went all poor me I'm white. At least mick fry doesn't pretend to be interested, but you... sad.
