So probably Lebron and Steph as captains right? I assume both have to automatically pick their teammate first if they are on the list to avoid drama yes?
I imagine this will get old in a few years and require redesigning again, but for the short term, thank God. Now they just need to break down the walls in selecting the All-Stars, before another couple stars flee West and we're left with NBA All-Star Greg Monroe.
Except that does not fix the problem because we still get 12 all stars from the East. We should just have the 24 best players voted in, instead of 12 from each conference. What 12 players can the East even field this year? Lebron, Kyrie, Wall, Greak Freak...
hayward, beal, derozan, kemba, lowry., porzingis, whiteside its pretty slim obviously and not the heavy hitters to the likes of the west but for an all star game doable bc theyre all going to be mixed in together anyways
Sounds cool, but how do they determine the captains? Ah, nm, just saw whoever wins the fan vote ? So will China go crazy with the voting and make Lin a captain
The East will still have a hard time putting together a decent pool of players worthy of being all-stars. Maybe having team captains will make guys play harder though. The game was an un-entertaining scrimmage last year.
It does fix a potential blowout though. I mean sorry Kemba, you an alright player, but you don't even sniff the all-star game in the West. I wish the NBA would just eliminate conferences.
The problem isn't the format, the problem is that it's not a real game. They don't play hard and they don't play defense. That is what would make it more interesting.
