Some real crap luck for Devo right now.

Bloop single, and 2 double play balls, yet no outs recorded.

    I think 12 pitchers in a 5 game series is a waste.

Would much rather have more pinch-hit and base-running options to actively change dynamics of games... while pitching the usual 4 bullpen guys that should be able to go mostly every game (+/- one mop-up guy).

The 4 starters (even though they may not all start), + the 4 relievers (Giles, Devo, Musgrove, Harris)... lefty specialist Liriano... then 2 of Mchugh, Gregerson, LMJ.

As far as Hinch goes... I feel the more for-sure options he has, and the less what-if options he has, the better he is at pushing buttons. (Reminds me of the same idiotic issues I have in fantasy football... where i'll talk myself into matchups vs going with the better player).

Just checked in. Tie game but bases loaded and no outs. I think Bubba is about to sneak up behind us and bend us over

Still status quo - then they are probably still unsure what to do. :)

I think he goes over our last reliever, but I think all the other starters make the team (Peacock, Morton, McHugh), especially if JoeJoe is right and the starters only pitch 3-5 innings. Then you'd be tandeming to some extent for your 3 and 4 starters, and McHugh/LMJ would be the 2nd parts of the tandem, I'd think.

Or maybe we keep him as a reliever who you use specifically when you need a strikeout rather than just a regular out? Not really sure.

Yeah, its a shame he was scratched his last start. They're really not going to have enough data or arm recovery time to know one way or the other.

I highly doubt the mythical tandem system happens for the first time ever in the playoffs... it will be managed like most playoff games, where starters will have early hooks if ineffective or having run high pitch count innings.

Right now would be a good spot to bring him back... can't believe Valbuena has been gifted a ton of hittable pitches against the Astros this year.

    That's it we're done.

Gonna lose this one, the red sox are gonna catch us, then we're gonna get swept in the first round.

    All hope is lost

Mechanics went bad around the time he became a 1 inning pitcher.

Got better as of late... but a bad changeup is one of the most hittable pitches in baseball.

This was a tough luck inning.
