Honestly. . .the question is not so much if they with the club but Are they still in the league? Rocket River
This is clearly a power move by ricky smits. In a time of need for receivers, he releases Riley, who Bill loves and Strong who Bill needed with all the injuries and concussions. Hes trying to handcuff Bill as much as possible. Bill does himself no favors by running a sucky offense but man, its clear lil rick wants bob out. I feel bad for us Texans fans.
Cause Bill is just a Teflon Don . . . . . .. . If it is bad. . . it's Rick It if is good. . . it's Bill I got it Rocket River
Ditto! I dont see how a coach could cut all receivers when there is a shortage of RECEIVERS! ricky smits is not the answer. billy is not the answer. Only one is getting moved in the foreseeable future. Yall can take that guess. Hmmm... This cog of a semi-working machine will continue to semi-work til the mcnairs sell this piece of **** franchise.
Hired in 2014, 27-21 regular season record -- same as O'Brien, zero division championships. This is why Rick has made this roster worse for 2017. He wants to leave no doubt that McNair tries to extend O'Brien, even though it would be declined. This is what Lance Zierlein said on his show about this during the playoffs in January(copied from another board): 01-03-2017, 05:01 PM "Bill O'Brien is gone... Rick Smith has already eliminated him... he went up against Rick Smith Smith, they couldn't get along... he's gone" "Rick doesn't sit right next to owner every game accidentally." "If you step up against "the king" you'd better hit him... because Rick Smith will eliminate you... and Bill O'Brien is finding that out." "I just got a text message from an NFL front office executive [of another team] that I don't usually talk to and this is what he said: Front office exec: Hey, are you kidding me? Rick Smith is about to get a good coach run out of town? LZ: Yeah, I guess it's not very good here in Texans town. Exec: Your city should be up in arms about this? Exec: And why would you [Rick Smith] put that out there just before the playoffs? That is so stupid! You never do something so selfish before the playoffs, it should always be about the team.--Lance Zierlein We'll see how O'Brien does with his next head coaching job. Kubiak and Wade won a Super Bowl.
Bouye certainly would've helped big time, but I have to wonder how much attention Vrabel is paying to the back end because there were too many free runners in routes. As wide open as you'll see. Johnathan Banks was toast, obviously meant it when he said he'd just been sitting on the sofa.
Texan fans have had three good coaches since 2003. BOB may be the best one in regards to being a leader.
You all can chill about AJ Bouye. We had bigger problems at safety. Demps is the FA I would have liked here. Corey Moore has no business being a starter.
Or anyone who wasn't jobless 5 days ago. And it's not like the secondary is riddled with injuries, we had 1 starting corner out and the best we could do was sign someone off the street? That's on Rick.
This is Rick calling and planting an article with The General, taking a victory lap, making sure O'Brien doesn't get credit in the Chronicle for DW (he hasn't), and manicuring his public image so when the mutual parting happens he's has already softened up the public. Basically a rehash of a post-draft article, but the reply/question below is hilarious: He's very good at this. And he deserves his victory lap. Note that McClain definitively says, "Smith finds the players, and Bill O'Brien and his staff coach them." At least when they turn out to be good.
