Harden is too skilled and too good to for that. He was still basically a 20 ppg scorer if u took away all his free throws. It's not like his free throw attempts will go down from 10 per game to like 5. I still expect him to be among the league leaders in free throw attempts. Harden has always been great at getting to the line. In college, in OKC as a 6th man, and as a superstar in Houston, he has always been great at drawing fouls.
Media continues to troll harden lol. And people on this site say I'm crazy for saying harden is the biggest target in the nba. They think that by lowering hardens free throws he still won't outscore their precious Curry. Well now Bob Myers has what he wants. Let's see if harden continues to outplay Curry for the 4th time in 5 years It's also cute how Adam silver caters to the warriors by giving into their demands for more rest and limiting back2backs. Chumps
Right, but if they take away some of those fouls, players will guard him closer thus he won’t have as many baskets. He makes a lot of those baskets because players keep their distance to avoid foul trouble.
They aren't taking away fouls. They are making a distinction between shooting and non-shooting like the Durant rule. They aren't saying getting caught reaching isn't a foul anymore, just like the Durant sweep is still a defensive foul, just not a shooting foul.
he'll be fine...by playing with CP3 and possibly Melo he will have easier scoring opportunities and lanes to the basket that weren't as readily available for him in the past...plus I think he'll adjust, he's just too skilled and smart he'll still draw plenty of fouls, it's just that now he might not get rewarded with free throws as much as he has in the past...the defender will still have to worry about getting in foul trouble while defending Harden Harden is certainly capable of getting buckets and destroying defenses without hunting for fouls...think games 1 and 2 against GS in the 2015 WCF
Don't forget Draymond Mr. Top 10 player himself getting away yelling at refs and kicking players in the groin
If it is after the 5th foul . . . it is free throws either way . . . .right ? This is bullshit and I will tell you why 1. I will bet money probably 50% of these fouls will be called against Harden 2. They will be called at KEY MOMENTs of a game This allows the Refs to be COOLERs and CONTROLLERS of the game more bullshit calls they can make to slow the game down The selective enforcement will be absolutely atrocious As it always has been . . . They call it the Harden rule but I have seen many players do it even the golden boys in San Fran Rocket River
How are they going to see this without slow motion replay? I think you are going to see the same kind of calls that punish reaching, your going to get some BS calls for sure, and if not...ah well, people actually think this is how Harden gets most of his fouls. He gets away with it maybe twice a game if that, most of his fouls come driving the lane. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong there, Harden isn't living at the line thanks to perimeter shots, he drives the lane a lot and is rewarded for it.
I thought the rule was it's a shooting foul if the guy takes a shot but doesn't dribble after being fouled. They're making a bunch of unnecessary distinctions.
thats nba rules yes but if they're not going to give him FT's it basically becomes a college rule. since they dont give you FT's based on continuation where you dont put the ball down before an attempt
