You can not give a true analysis after that bullcrap game. How can you bring up accuracy issues when the offensive line was in his lap. How can you attempt to look at footwork when he couldn't even step into his darn throws. On three of his miss attempts the receivers ran the wrong darn routes. Hopkins on one pass said its on him. Because he seen the all out blitz coming just like the QB. The route should've been broken off but he continued to run the fly pattern. So again how in the hell can anybody say with a straight face anything about his accuracy and footwork during that game. Another thing Savage couldn't be truly evaluated either, because of the same reasons.
I am certainly no expert, and was only judging on how the ball looked in the air. It just looked to me that his passes weren't strong tight spirals like Savage, and he threw a few too low and to the ground, or too far out of reach. I could be completely wrong, but it just seemed like he couldn't throw the ball as accurately or hard as Savage. Time will tell.
Right now he can't throw the ball as hard or accurate as Savage. That is a fact. If he could, he would have gone #1 and would have gotten all the first team reps in the summer. Someday he may be more accurate and throw harder than Savage; but not now.
At this point. Savage is a better passer. But Deshaun is better at other things. If Savage was a MUCH better passer then you would accommodate his other weaknesses. For example: Russell Wilson is a better QB than Stafford even though Stafford is a better passer. But Tom Brady is a better QB than Russell Wilson because Tom is a MUCH better passer than Russell. We would tolerate a statue of a QB if he was a sharp shooter from the pocket. For the record, I'm probably the biggest Deshaun guy on here and was ecstatic when they selected him. That being said I still would rather Savage was starting tonight. Like Wilson, CK, and Cam; Deshaun would benefit from a playbook that plays to his strengths. Since they weren't doing that in the offseason, the team needs time to begin doing that.
Well, Savage really is a MUCH better passer than Watson, but they don't need their QB to make passes, they need their QB to run for their life and Watson is MUCH better at that than Savage. They've already scrapped the playbook now that they know WR's won't catch the perfectly thrown passes and the O line won't even get in the way of rushers on most downs. When all you have is parking cones on the O line, there's no point in even pretending you can make passes from a pocket. You just need your QB to take off running as soon as the ball touches his hands and maybe make a short pass every now and again.
They're gonna blitz a lot because no one can get open one-on-one and Watson can't through accurately past 10 yards
Damn Deshaun is now messing around with pornstar Mia Khalifa? Better hope ISIS doesn't want to get him killed as well...
But he gets the ball in the end zone. The NFL is not a passing contest. Usually the objective is to score more points than what a field goal can get you.
