https://www.theverge.com/2017/9/7/16267774/apple-event-september-2017-preview-iphone-8-watch-tv IPHONE X - It’s widely expected that the iPhone X will be some advanced version of the iPhone, one that could possibly ship later this year. Rumors and leaks point to an edge-to-edge OLED display, a new 3D face-scanning camera, wireless charging capabilities, and a nonexistent home button. APPLE WATCH 3/LTE - Apple Watch, one that adds an LTE modem to the device. This means that certain features that currently require having your phone nearby — like making phone calls, sending text messages, streaming music, or even installing new software APPLE TV - The next generation of the Apple TV, according to a Bloomberg report earlier this year, will stream videos in 4K and in more “vivid colors.” (We're hoping for both HDR10 and Dolby Vision.)
Pretty substantial jump for most people. $650 to $1000. Not saying they have to but most will take a second longer to think about it.
funny how the iPhone 7 didn't get those features predicted for 2016, but only getting some of those features in 2017 Still curious what iPhone has to offer, let's see how long they'll get the near bezel-less display
I worked for Apple for 7 or 8 years... terrible work environment. Everyone that leaves starts to see the brainwashing that occurred but hardly anyone knows it while they're working there. It's very subtle in the middle and obvious from the outside. I had this boss that openly told me a racist joke and he got a slap on the wrist. Later he was making sexist jokes, same thing. They sweep problems beneath a carpet. One of these days it's all going to be exposed.
It's crazy how the iPhone can have less features yet still make the best overall phone on the market. Really shows that Apple knows what they're doing.
hope they catch-up on hardware. competition is a good thing. that said, if they forego touch id for face/eye scan... that's a step back imo. hopefully they'll finally get a 2k screen since they're going with oled. the rumored infinity display looks like an essential/samsung love-child. it really does look like an android phone.
I don't see how dropping Touch ID would be a step backwards. If they're gonna exclusively use face id then that means it's super secure and works flawlessly..galaxy phones can be unlocked with a picture. Also, it's rumored to record video in 4K @60fps Don't think the note 8 can do that,, hell, most cameras can't do that
Even with this all this update's hype I'm not really excited about the iPhone this year. And this is coming from a guy who owns nearly every product that Apple makes. My 7 Plus is still holding up just fine and my phone bill is already high enough. I don't feel a need to update my Apple Watch either, and I'm still wearing a Gen 1. Now the Apple TV update does excite me. As long as it doesn't disappoint I'll be replacing at least one of my current Apple TVs with a Gen 5.
i concur, except the apple tv update doesn't excite me either. current version works just fine, and at some point i can't tell the difference between 1080p and 4k, yada, yada. I mean, I can... but i don't care.
they make one of the best if not the best. Everything points to it. Tech reviewers, sales, reliability, customer satisfaction, etc.
If it wasn't for the iwatch, my wife would switch back to Samsung from her iphone. She's hoping the new iphone comes close to my galaxy s8.
I wont call the new iPhones a POS and acknowledge they are great phones. The S7 and S8 have made great strides. At this point, it comes down to preference. If you're hooked into the Apple culture, you will continue to buy the iPhone. If you're one who wants the latest and greatest, you're likely to go down the Galaxy path. There was a time when the iPhone was everywhere. Everyone had one. They were in TV shows and movies. Thats really not the case anymore. Generally speaking, I see the tech challenged and women predominately carrying them.
