    Then why did he not play in the playoffs?

    Why was only put in when it was garbage time with the other scrubs?

    Easy work.

    Is 40 points lower a bad thing? Life gets filled with battles between the heart and the head. There is nothing in an IQ test to measure a person's heart. But intelligence without a heart is not intelligence. Battles between our hearts and heads come up to help us to make our hearts and minds work together.

    Your heart pumps blood to the rest of your body. Emotions come from the brain, chief.

    Leave it to someone dumb to want to be dumber... Emotions almost always causes us to make stupid decisions. Much of the world's problems are caused by humans having too much emotions to properly make logical decisions.

    Where is your brain? Science shows that most decisions are made by the gut. A neurologically based behavior is the only way that a person can survive when faced with a dilemma that requires a quick and unthinking response. That's why there is military training and fast responder training, so that proper actions will be taken when there is not enough time for reflection and reasoning.

    It's why you have basketball practice.

    A good book on the subject is Gut Feelings: The Intelligence of the Unconscious by Gerd Gigerenzer.

    https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/786560.Gut_Feelings

    Gerd's book is the science behind Malcolm Gladwell's book Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking

    Gregg Popovich can win with old women because his players love him. Pop had to talk Boban into taking the 7 million a year offer from Detroit. Boban wanted to stay in San Antonio for his old 1 million a year.

    Conditioned response is completely different from emotions or "heart". Our brains process things way faster than we can consciously keep up. What you call "gut feelings" is not some sort of mythical "heart" or any type of emotions. It is merely our brains recognizing a situation based on subconsciously observed signs and sending out an early warning system.

    The point I was trying to make was "where are decisions made?" Where is the brain? My examples were conditioned responses to avoid getting into it about evolution. Intuition is the result of conditioned responses over thousands or millions of years of the evolution of our species.

    This is getting ridiculous. They need to spend this much time deciding on if they need to keep a 33 year old owed $52mm+, but they will give THJ $70mm without hesitating? Has Kristaps even been in contact with the team since the regular season ended? If it doesn't make sense to take on Ryhno, then both teams should move on. I wonder if there are other deals out there that could improve the team we could be missing out on? Bledsoe is available?

    I don't think they need to decide or are spending time deciding. Ideally, they'd like move on. Except they now want value back after trashing him all year. That was Phil but even since Phil's ouster, they continue to subtly say we want to move on. "We want to get younger, more athletic, play defense, team oriented,..." everything that screams not Carmelo. But there's not good value for a 33-year old, owed $54M with a no trade clause.

    Knicks coming to their senses? Ha, we'll see but still 70 days til the start of the season. While we'd all like it to be, nothing needs to be done today.

    The brain is the complex organ responsible for all the things you are trying (and failing miserably) to contradictorily argue with your various scattered assertions and this most recent claim is even more outlandish. Intuition, for example, is NOT the result of conditioned responses over a long period of time. Intuition is the decision making process that does not involve conscious reasoning. This can involve conditioned responses, but goes far beyond it.

    What you are referring to is memory inheritance, also known as genetic memory, and often includes instincts. Instincts, while we are on the topic, is simply an innate response to external stimuli, typically based off base emotions such as fear, joy, hunger, or biological drive. This is just a small aspect of conditioned response and definitely even smaller part of what we call intuition.

    This will be my last reply to you though as this is completely off topic and it is clear that you really have no idea of what you are talking about.

    If you are going to get Carmelo through a trade you have to find a team that needs a PF and has enough bad contracts of their own to swap bad contracts. The only team that I see that meets those parameters is Detroit. If Houston can't get Detroit involved in a three way trade then Houston doesn't have any way to acquire Carmelo by trade.

    Sounds like there are too many variables anyway. From Codman: seems like the Knicks are trying to rid themselves of Noah's contract. From ch44: j*zz have interest in Anderson, NY trying to get Carmelo to want to go to Milwaukee; Knicks with their new GM and their new Obama relative.....just too many variables for a swift resolution.

    Again you are missing the point. This started from a comment about a 40 point drop in IQ. An IQ number does not determine a person's intelligence because any decision that is heartless is not smart.

    I agree Detroit makes the most sense... but they are not the ONLY team (UTH, POR) that need a player like Ryno
    Easiest and most realistic move would be:
    Melo --> Rox
    Tobias Harris (DET) + HOU expirings + HOU filler (2nd, Euro) --> NYK
    Ryno --> DET + 2020 1st (HOU - lottery protected)
    Utah is appealing with a lot of expiring contracts as well (with a need for Ryno and a center to protect him).
    Portland appeals to NYK b/c of Harkless, but Harris would be a better fit IMHO.
    Also, Portland has apparently lost touch with reality.
