Is this something that all of these guys actually want? It's a lot to presume. Somehow LeBron and Wade were happy enough to win without Paul and Melo.
Not going to happen because the Rockets will beat the Cavs in the Finals this upcoming season and if LeBron comes here than he would be no better than KD
I like how the banana boat could get together in Houston but the one guy closest to winning the MVP recently, the one guy that's for sure still in his prime years, the one guy who would be the honorary "fifth banana", and if it happened, the one guy most responsible for making it happen isn't even freaking mentioned....
It wouldn't really be the Houston Rockets. It would be team banana boat. Or maybe LeBron and friends that just happen to play in Houston.
That's how I feel, too. If we get Carmelo, yeah it's a super-team. But between Harden-Paul-Melo-and D'Antoni it's the playoff redemption tour. There's a storyline to watch for. If Lebron comes over - it's no longer a team built through competition. There's not the same joy in 'overcoming the odds'. You want to be the team that beats Lebron & KD, not the team that gets half of the all-star team. This post would get flamed on a more impartial forum, though, because people cheer for stars more than teams in the modern NBA.
Really get where you are coming from, but between not winning a championship without Lebron and friends, and winning one with them, I'll take the ring and get over the fact we built an all star team.
Wouldn't Chris Paul be willing to take less than the max if we can secure Lebron? He of all people should know the importance of having depth on a roster.
