Rose just isn't that great of a player anymore, I think he's an average bench player, for example, I think Lin is a better player then Rose, at this point in their careers. Rose is inefficient on offense, a horrible 3PT shooter (Brewer level bad), and a poor defender. He's a good mid range shooter, he's solid at driving to the rim, an okay passer...and that's about all he brings. I though he would have gotten a tax payer MLE from some team, but I'm not surprised he took vet minimum to play for the Cavs.
Cavs should sign Dmo next, then maybe add Wade too. Then they should call themselves The Wheelchair All-Stars.
I am not sure the Cavs would beat the Rockets if they get Anthony. The issues between LeBron and Kyrie are not going to magically go away.
You forgot if Kyrie also lost his hops lol. I still think its ridiculous he got the MVP just because people didn't want to give Lebron more MVPs than Jordan.
Yeah - Lebron's not winning MVP that season is pretty unforgivable. 27/7/7 on 51% (54% eFG) shooting vs. 25/7/4 on 45% (49% eFG). Every advanced stat bears that out as well.
Is DROSE LATRELL SPREWELL 2.0???? "I can't feed my family on $30 million" Sprewell never played again after turning down $30 millions from Twolves. DROSE "I'm just looking at all the money being passed out. It ain't for me. It's for my family, it's for Jr. I need to take care of my family. Can't feed your family on $150 millions" http://www.sportingnews.com/nba/new...on-max-contract-nba/jplo5q0th4j71nye740p5c33g It appears Derrick Rose has had another lapse in judgment. Despite a strange absence from the Knicks on Monday night in which he reportedly talked about walking away from basketball for an extended period of time to clear his mind, Rose has his heart set on a max contract this summer. MORE: Ranking the best NBA stars to change teams in their primes According to ESPN, some close to Rose say he has told friends he will seek a max contract this summer. For the 28-year-old Rose, that contract would be for five years and nearly $150 million. Sorry, Rose that's not going to happen. As the report points out, the below-.500 Knicks would need to use nearly all of their cap space to sign Rose to the deal. While he's bringing in over $21 million on a one-year deal with the Knicks this season, he's not playing to his worth. With the latest report saying Rose is growing tired of being away from his son, we doubt there's any NBA team that is willing to spend up for Rose, who is averaging 17.3 points, 4.5 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game this season. In fact, there are a number of impending free agent point guards that have a better shot than Rose for better contract. Chris Paul and Kyle Lowry could opt out of their player options for next season, while unrestricted free agents Jrue Holiday, Jeff Teague and George Hill all have a higher player efficiency rating than Rose this season.
Who knew Derrick would be the minimum signing? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Spoiler: Some former Bulls teammates Derrick Rose - 1 year, $2.8M Jimmy Butler - 5 years, $90M Luol Deng - 2 years, $20M; 4 years, $72M Taj Gibson - 2 years, $28M Joakim Noah - 4 years, $72M Kyle Korver - 4 years, $24M; 3 years, $22M Omer Asik - 3 years, $25M; 5 years, $60M Pau Gasol - 1 year, $15M; 3 years, $48M James Johnson - veteran's minimum; 2 years, $5M; 4 years, $60M Marco Belinelli - 2 years, $5.6M; 3 years, $19M Tony Snell - 4 years, $46M
This Rose signing reminds me of the Deron Williams signing--a superficially splashy move that won't amount to much. Williams was actually a better fit, since he could shoot from range and Rose can't, but neither can play defense at this point, which completely limits their value against the better teams, especially in the playoffs.
