Who's the most infamous role player in the boards eyes? Beverley is loved. Full of tenacity and effort. Great defender, heart and motor. Battier is the "non stats" guy. Studied stats and just new where to be. Ultimate unrecognized defender. Sura. True warrior who played through it. Always fell in faint. Elie. Kiss of mother effing death. Horry. One of the best role players all time for us as well as other teams. Very clutch. Or Someone else? Like Lin So guys and gals. What say you?
I voted Elie because he was the most all rounded role player, while being clutch. I like Beverly more though, because he was fearless and made the most of his limited talents.
Houston Barkley was a role player to me. Super role player. I probably vote for Thorpe, Horry, Cassell, Kenny.
For me? it's my boy Boobby Brown. No one in Rockets history who hardly plays has made more impact than this guy.
Surprised to see Horry in the early lead. I feel like most of his major clutch accolades actually came post-Houston. Solely as a Houston Rocket, I'm not sure how you can include him, but not other key 93-95 era role players (aside from Elie).
You forgot these guys. DMo Dragic Novak VSpan Nachbar Dan Langhi Although, one can make the argument that VSpan, Europe's T-Mac, is no role player.
Gotta go with BSB with Mario 2nd. He was a great defender and (especially in our 2nd title run) he hit some big shots for us. Game winner against the Spurs in the playoffs. Dunk (tone-setter) to start the game against the Knicks in game 7.
A "role player" that pulls down 30 rebounds in his 1st game? I think that's stretching the term. We didn't get "prime" Barkley but he was still "very good" imo.
