If Britton is too expensive then I'd be happy with Wilson. He is really good and under contract through '18.
Wonder what it would take to get both Fulmer and Wilson from Detroit? I think Houston would basically have to give the Tigers a farm system. Astros get: SP Michael Fulmer RP Justin Wilson Tigers get: OF Kyle Tucker SP Francis Martes OF Derek Fisher SP Franklin Perez OF Yordan Alvarez SP Jorge Alcala That would decimate Houstons farm, which would left with just Whitley, Paulino, and Bukauskas as elite prospects. But I fear that's what it would take.
Reported him roughly early this morning/night, hope the mods react. He's spamming every thread and even PM'd this crap to me and other users.
Given what the cost of acquiring an elite pitcher and the scarcity of them available, the Astros may be wise to just stand pat. Luhnow has set up the organization to compete for years, so why decimate your minor league system? If Keuchel and McCullers come through in October and the lineup hits like this you don't need much more to win it all.
Well the market has been set for relievers now after the Nats acquired Doolittle and Madsen. It took two mid tier/non elite prospects that were in the organizational top 10 and an up and coming reliever on the major league roster. I think we could do something for Brad Hand without touching our big guys, maybe a Moran/Davis plus Teoscar and a throw in with potential? Perhaps they'd want someone younger with no big league experience?
After some of the moves made over the past couple of days I have a feeling Luhnow is going to pull the trigger and go get Sonny Gray.
