Tucker, Black, and now Mbah a Moute.. All fantastic pick ups. This is shaping to be one of the best rosters we've ever had, on paper.
This is my first question too. Seems like he would want minutes to pump his value for next summer and the Rockets aren't the ideal choice for that. Seems like the Rockets need depth at the PF position, especially if Ryno leaves in a Melo trade. Maybe the plan is to have Tucker be the backup PF and have Mbah a Moute be Ariza's backup. Rockets going full time small ball?
I was joking to @Snow Villiers joke about Morey moving on. Of course this doesn't affect their 'Melo pursuit.
DBPM Paul - 1.1 (41.1) Tucker - 1.6 (40.0) Ariza - 2.0 (34.4) Mbah a Moute - 1.6 (39.1) Capela - 5.6 Also listed was their BTA percentages last year. So not only could this team smoother you, they have the potential to shoot you out of the building as well.
Another, "I can't believe Morey got this guy, and for that price!" kind of moment. Seriously, I can't believe we got this guy for the minimum. Daryl is on a roll!
Holy ****, this guy is a killer on defense. One of the genuinely elite perimeter defenders in the league. His scoring capabilities are lacking, but we could certainly use him in stretches. Very good for 15~20 minute player.
What a f'ing get for the minimum. And no guys, Ariza isn't going anywhere.... the Rockets needed another wing. Paul | Taylor | Brown Harden | Gordon Ariza | Mbah a Moute Anderson | Tucker | Oliver | Qi Capela | Nene | Black | Onuaku This is the current outlook for the 15 man if they don't make the move for Melo. I'm assuming Taylor, Onuaku, and maybe Oliver get included in any Melo deal which would open up a roster spot for Troy Williams and a veteran PG that they need for spot minutes. But overall... got damn, this team is absolutely loaded.
only problem I had with the Tucker signing is when I initially thought that we had given him 4 years fully guaranteed Luc isn't some amazing signing, but for the vet min you could do much worse when looking for a wing defender
Anthony's best position now is the 4, he would be the primary 4 followed by Mbah a Moute, Tucker, and Ariza.
Love love love it. Clearly a signing made with GS in mind. Can't have enough switch/D forwards that can hit the three against the Warriors,
They better hope Gordon doesn't get injured. That reserve unit is not going to be able to put any points on the board.
I am ecstatic for this signing. Between Mbah and tucker we have versatile depth at the 3/4 that can switch on everything. If their 3 point shots stay with them this year they will bloody perfect for this team. I'm even more in favor of a melo deal now. Coach dan Tony would have so much lineup flexibility to hang with the warriors
I am not a owner of a NBA team and I am still scared of the NBA repeater tax. Rockets subject to it next year, almost a guarantee.
