    What you are discribing is unprofessional and a good way of being black balled by other GMs.

    That's called negotiating in bad faith. A huge no no in profesional settings.

    Absolutely agreed, but at this point in the game it's negotiating so there aren't any real consequences for Portland's GM. What would seemingly be annoying is that they've waisted everyone's time if they knew they wanted Melo all along and just strung us along hoping they could finnagle something else down the line.

    They'd only likely be blackballed if agreements were made public, but right now (if they were doing this) they could always just say "we were negotiating". Wouldn't' change the fact that they wasted everyone's time if a BnS was their intention.

    Now if the just decided right now that they wanted Melo, then I'm wrong...but then again, that could be an excuse they're hoping to cover up any intention of a BnS.

    I think they were saying they think it puts them on the level of the tier below the warriors. I.E. Rockets, Spurs, Thunder, etc.
