Nah, I don't want a championship. I enjoy watching the showboat Warriors laugh and hold hands and skip around throughout the playoffs. But on a more serious note - I've been saying for a while that if we assemble Harden-Paul-D'Antoni-Carmelo, we'll have the NBA all-underachiever team. The team would be exciting to watch just for the chance at major redemption for everyone.
His loyalty is so underrated on this board. I know he got paid but still, it needs to be appreciated more.
Harden has not underachieved. Unfortunately his bad games have been really bad in critical playoff moments, but just because of that he has not underachieved. I guess if you classify not winning a championship underachieving, then the league is full of underachievers.
Harden shows so much loyalty to this city yet dudes on here wanted to trade him for D'angelo Russell and Paul George. Thank God we have an MVP candidate locked up for many years to come. Without him here, we don't get CP3, and we don't have a shot at getting Melo. Without him here, we'd be having threads discussing which undersized PF we'd be taking with the 14th pick. Appreciate what we have.
Funnily enough he's overachieved outside of that one bad last year with Dwight...in that his team went further than anyone expected before the season. If he does that again this season we'll be in the Finals.
Trade harden for a lottery pick and just start over. Lets tank for 6 years and rebuild the right way. Harden doesnt count as s star player for us because we didnt draft him. Only teams who draft their stars win. -trade harden thread
That's a great point. Other than the bad Dwight year we've exceed regular season expectations every year. Postseason is questionable I guess. Last year we should have been a bubble playoff team that lost in the first round at best, but we ended up the 3rd seed with a 1st round win. However, by the time we lost expectations were obviously higher
I'm sorry. But him talking about championships after his performance in game 6 falls on deaf ears. I like that Les feels confident enough to pay him. But Harden's nothing more than a guy who plays more for his stats than winning a ring. With CP3 maybe that'll change. Maybe with Melo also. I dont trust playoff Harden's motives
Win or lose, it's great to have a superstar like Harden. He always plays and performs well, he's exciting to watch and he always takes the team to the playoffs
Get Harden a Big 3 like some of these other superstars and let's see what he can do. Harden+CP3 is a start. Next we need to add Melo and see how far this thing can go. Harden by himself is good enough to take 1 game from GS. Now he might be playing alongside CP3 and Melo? Man, I can't wait.
I am done with this sweet talk and PR stuff. Show it on the court in every PLAYOFF Series! Leave it out there. It sounds enticing but I will never forget his quitting, he has lots things to do, compensating.
