I like CJ Miles, who is versatile (can guard multiple positions) and shoots a high percentage from 3pt. He's a good addition if we don't add another 4; as i can see us playing Ariza and even Tucker for spurts at the 4; Miles at the 3. Probably too rich for us though. Still in his prime at 30, but coming off of a small drop in production last year.
He's not a good defender, and for a forward who will be playing a lot at the 4, he's a pretty horrible rebounder. Id pass, we got Tucker.
Why would he play the 4? He's a 2/3. He can't even be a small ball 4 imo. Anyways, for a bench player who costs you practically nothing, a 41% 3pt shooter is a good signing. Even if he's a poor defender and rebounder. This is a minimum signing, the player is going to have serious flaws no matter what. I think the Wolves want him for the minimum, and he wants the Wolves, but we can send an NG contract in sign n trade and offer him more.
I highly doubt it. Neither the Rockets or Wolves could pay him more than a few million, and these are the reported destinations. At anything more than the BAE he is definitely overpaid imo.
What's so enticing about Minnesota I wonder?. What makes them stand out over warriors, cavs, rockets, Spurs, Boston and etc etc
Delete. That's what I get for being late to the party. Wouldn't mind adding another sf, probably will be Troy which I'm good with
Can't help but wonder if this delay about the Carmelo deal is causing Morey to miss out on his "bargain hunt" players.
He said he wants a guy for the minimum. The rotation is set. You swap out melo for ryno but we aren't adding anyone that's going to get consistent minutes. We want a guard and maybe a big man that can take the minimum and play in limited situations. Cj miles and players like him were never going to sign up for that
As long as teams have money left to spend, there aren't going to be a ton of good deals to be found at this stage of free agency. I'm not sure Miles at around $8MM/yr is necessarily a bargain.
CJ Miles was supposed to be our starting 2-guard with Daniel Gibson, PJ Tucker, Brad Buckman, and LaMarcus Aldridge in 2006. #HookEm Would be interesting if we got him!
Is the rotation set? The Rockets had two guards that came off the bench to play significant minutes last year. Not ridiculous to think they would want something similar his years. My post wasn't just about CJ though he could have helped. Maybe trade using the no guarantees
