I don't understand how anyone can hate on this move, or even have doubts it will work well.

Chris Paul is Patrick Beverley with elite point guard and offensive skills. He can play with or without the ball and is a great perimeter defender. A perfect complement to Harden. CP3 can be a deadly spot up shooter or run the offense and let Harden play off the ball. And having Ariza and CP3 will still help cover Harden's poor perimeter D.

If the Rockets can find a way to get Paul George, even if it means losing Capela, they would have the personnel capable of competing with Golden State. Ariza guards Thompson, George guards Durant, CP3 guards Curry. Then you stick Harden on either Draymond or Iguodala.

Millsap and Melo don't do as much for me, though I'd obviously take them.

    How involved was James?

It's obviously more of people can see what James can do & ability to make others better. He's a guy people want to play with. NBA today, need one guy like James who is your foundation & allows everything else to happen. No James, we don't have Chris.

    This is AMAZING news!!

To get Paul in exchange for Bev and Lou and Dekker (plus Wiltjer and 2 scrubs) is a fantastic deal. Essentially he does everything we would want Bev or Lou to do, but does it really well. Super massive upgrade at that other guard spot. Will take care of the ball and can run plays in crunch time.

Mild concerns about his conference semi finals disappearing acts though...

Something else I have been wondering.

Does this mean Harden finally allowed Morey to bring someone in who would take the ball out of his hands?

Word from holic was Harden wouldn't allow it.

Morey: With him being the focal point night after night in the playoffs, after playing a long season of carrying a big offensive load, that's tough. He did it. He carried us far. It was a hell of a year. Chris & him will carry each other through the season, good seed & in the playoffs, we're so much stronger to face who we'll face in the playoffs. 2 guys with that much experience & can carry that load.

Too bad the Warriors will never have a time when they don't have TWO All-NBA players on the floor at the same time.

That's probably why Morey didn't wait for him to hit the market. The Rockets have traded away half their roster now including important pieces like Bev and Harrell. They need to trade for guys with heart - I really hope we can land PG or a good 4 or 5 who can pick and slam it off the Harden or Paul lob

Agree but don't tempt a player with free agency - look what happened with KD

If melo gets bought out the rockets can sign him and possibly end up with

    Paul
    Harden
    Melo
    Millsap
    Capela

And 2 of ariza, gordon, anderson.

The only question/concern i have is why we had to give up the assets we did? Did we give up bev and a 1st just to circumvent the cap?
He was a free agent... couldn't we have just signed him to 1 year deal for the same pay and cleared capspace with other players?

Forgive me if its been explained... been working and only gotten pieces of info...
