There is zero chance Morey is trading Capela for Melo. Come on guys.

I agree 100%. Losing Capela would be too much. But, maybe the Rockets are really high on Onuaku.

If Melo is going to play the 3, there is no point to all of this. No team can ever win a competitive series with Carmelo guarding SF's and Harden guarding SG's.

nope. We don't have to give them an asset.
Melo has a no trade clause. This means that the Knicks have no leveradge. These negotiations aren't made on equal terms.
It's not liek the Knicks can hang up the phone and say "oh we will look if we can find smth better".

It's us or they buy him out.

    Would rather have George (duh)

Then a "Would you rather" would you rather have 'Melo or say ... Millsap?

I'm a little conflicted on Melo. I guess if there are no other takers for Anderson, and they're willing to do a straight up Melo-for-Anderson swap, it's hard to say no.

Or they just keep him. He only has two years left. If they aren't getting anything they want at all, why would they take on MORE years of salary in Ryno. They'd be better off just letting Melo sit at home and collect a check for two years.

Well. F off to this. We need to get Melo via buyout and only via buyout. Trading for Melo will probably only get rid of the only contract we have available (Anderson) that will severely limit our available moves for the rest of the summer.

I don't think we have anything the Pacers want so I'm not sure how we can get PG13.

A deal? That's why we are landing Shawn Long. :D

    a 15 for 1 trade.

I am not seeing us give them anything valuable back to match Melo's salary.

    Nah

Tough. Melo is a great scorer, but Millsap is a great defender.

except unless a) the Kings are still idiots which honestly it's doubtful right now b) Atlanta is idiots, Millsap to Houston isn't an option.

For the same price, obviously Millsap. But would cost more to get Millsap no doubt.

It's all fun and games until MDA has to bench him for being a malcontent.

Honestly, I would rather get Tucker
with the MLE, and retain Capela as well as Ariza.

Rockets have loaded up on NG'teed salaries! Didn't use all of them in CP3 trade. They have designs on using them in another big trade. Wow!
