Wow! Michael Jordan has no damn clue what he's doing in Charlotte. Hornets have $100 million payroll and crappy lineup top to bottom. Howard and Batum making a combined $45 million dollar? YIKES! Anyway good luck to Dwight. If he only he would accept his role as a rebounder and rim protector, he'd still be a valuable contributor on a contender like maybe say Cleveland.
Who knows if it's just lip service, but Howard's comments about practicing three's may indicate that he's finally willing to adapt to today's game. I obviously wouldn't want him shooting 3's, but if he commits himself to playing like Capela, he and Kemba could run some nice two man stuff.
I am positive Howard before the last two seasons in Houston at least, has said something eerily similar in the off-season. This dude is flat out all talk. Can't even walk the walk. And by walk the walk I mean play in crunch time.
Take Dwight's comments with a grain of salt. Remember when he said he would sacrifice his game for the good of the team before the 2016 playoffs? In practice, that meant he just stood around and didn't try very hard. At least he stopped demanding touches?
I think Cody Zeller's b-ball IQ completely bombs Dwight. My bet is the younger Zeller physically trashes Dwight in practice and Dwight becomes an insecure cancer ready to go somewhere else again right before 2018 even happens.
He has always wanted to shoot 3s. The problem with dwight is he keeps wanting to do things he's not good at. If he stuck with the PnR, especially in Htown, his trade value probably wouldn't be so low. Didn't watch atlanta games, though.
Hawks GM Travis Schlenk: "When I first got the job, one of the first things you do is start making calls to all the other teams to see what value your players have around the league. Dwight’s name came up in some of those conversations. In the course of a few weeks, Charlotte expressed a lot of interest. So we sat down and make those decisions to get where we want to go. We thought this is the time to make the trade," he said. He said there were three or four teams with significant interest in Howard. But that the Hornets' deal was the best package for the Hawks and that the Hornets had the most interest.
It's funny that you love to pounce all over guys like Dwight and say he sucks (he kinda does) but when someone says DMo sucks it's like somebody slapped your girl in broad daylight. It's just a fun observation to see how sexual attraction goes a long way with how some guys choose to speak about players. See the Jeremy Lin thread for example.
If Mile Plumlee and Bellinelli are the best package, I shudder to imagine what the other packages are.
