I listened to the Zach Lowe podcast earlier today and Brian Windhorst said Chris Paul legitimately is interested in playing for Houston. Said he knows it came out already but it is serious. And there have been a lot of rumblings about it. Not too mention the implosion happening in clipperland. But I mean keep being pessimistic it leads to less letdown and more shock.
Agreed. Regardless, Rockets team will be far better next year. I'm holding out hope we can keep Gordon and Bev while only shedding Ryno, Harrell, Dekker to get close to max. Paul would be idiotic to turn down a chance to play with a DEEP roster.
Just cause a guy has an interest in possibly playing for us isn't a whole lot... if yer the #2 choice... then it really aint squat... Who do you think is most apt to leave Clipperland - CP3 or Blake? Personally, I think there's no way in hell CP3 is gonna leave money on the table and walk away from Jerry West... Blake otoh i believe is actually moving and will be in play... ...jus sayin...
We shall see... but imo I would estimate that's there's an 80- 90% chance CP3 returns to LA and maybe a 10-20% chance Blake does...
Welp... we know we won't get both of them. Jordan Schultz ✔@Schultz_Report Was told last month - per a source close w/Blake+brother Taylor, Blake wants no part of CP3 and grown increasingly frustrated w/organization https://twitter.com/wojverticalnba/status/878366797036003328 … 5:51 PM - 23 Jun 2017
He'd be first call to gauge interest... next call would be to Milsap... why run off with the first girl to wink at you? Gotta see what options you got...
I wonder if Morey has a conference type of call with both players at the same time. Basically telling both that they will be great for Rockets, thus some sacrifice in $$ by each player so as not to gut the team somewhat.
So if we believe these reports, Morey is hoping for a combo of Cp3 & Milsap or Lowry & BG Honestly I would be happy with either.
CP3 and Blake would play in Houston with Harden if given the chance. The reports about beef between CP3 and Blake is overrated.
I rather have blake griffin than cp3. Harden needs the ball to be affective and so does cp3. I don't see it working with having two ball dominant guards on the same team. I feel like blake though could be the amare stoudemire in this offense.
What he said. I could see Jerry West convincing Chris Paul to stay. He'd try to build a new team around him, get some sort of identity, and then hope to add someone like Lebron on top of that. Obviously it won't be as good and is a hell of a lot harder than what he helped do in Golden State, but like Golden State adding Durant.
So he's interested but you don't want to follow up? You don't want to try and see if would commit? But rather, you would like to court Blake and others who haven't shown interest at all specifically? It's like wanting to fail
