I took that as IF THEY get Hayward then they wont pursue a George rental.. IF THEY MISS OUT ON HAYWARD they will gamble on George this year
I wonder with Minnesota pushing the chips in if a deal could be made. Minnesota gets Bev and ryno Denver gets rubio and Memphis 2nd Houston gets future Minnesota 1st and Mike Miller. Mike miller is fully ungauranteed and once waived adds 25m cap space. Ship both Minnesota 1st and our future 1st with Gordon to Indy for George. That reduces 6m in space. You could be serious and in striking distance of attaining a max level player. You could easily trade ariza or lou and get the full 35m needed for Paul if he commits.
1post and you quit .... guess your too "dorkish" to roll with the baddest fan site on the planet Insert door slamming gif
Celtics Could Trade For Paul George If Agreement Reached With Gordon Hayward The Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers continue to discuss a Paul George trade but it is reportedly contingent on signing Gordon Hayward in free agency. According to sources, the Celtics are in position to trade for George with a three-year extension in place. George would lose money, however, on an extend-and-trade as opposed to the raises he could receive simply becoming a free agent in 2018. The Celtics passed on trading for Jimmy Butler at the draft and were instead focused on scenarios for George. George has long preferred to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018, but it is possible the Celtics could make a trade for him with a commitment in the long-term.
Beverley makes a lot of sense there now. I wonder about Ryan though...Bjelica is overall not as good, but he's a similar player, a bit better rebounder, but mostly he's way cheaper for a couple of years, not sure Thibs sees Ryan that much better to go eat his salary... As for the pick, i think they don't have thier 1st next year... EDIT: yep, their 2018 1st rounder is going to Atlanta unless it falls into the lottery.
This is what i don't get on this situation. Right now Boston has basically 30M in cap space, exact amount to sign a max like Hayward. If they trade a couple of contracts for George, how they'll be able to get a big man after those two moves? Cause what they need most already as today is a big man, a rebounder/rim protector...
Too much overlap between Heyward, George, Brown and Tatum. If I'm Boston, I try my best to get Heyward. If I get him, I turn my attention to Porzingus. The offer for KP is no more than one of Brown/Tatum and one of the Nets or sixers/lakers picks. If I miss on Heyward, I move on to Blake Griffin. If I get him, then I might offer a good package to get George, thinking I shouldn't have an issue resigning him. If I miss on Griffin, then I probably pass on George and continue to build for the future.
Wonder if we would have to work a SnT with Utah in order to get both Hayward and George? Then trade for George. We need to get another 1st round pick from somewhere.
I don't buy that at all. George has no incentive to sign a 3 year $97 million extension when he can get a 5 year $174 million contract next summer. Nopeity nope.
A solid first round pick IMO. A low future first rounder won't cut it, and neither will Beverely by himself.
As much as I don't like gutting our bench, Morey needs to make this happen. I know you're reading this, Durl. Get on it.
Yeah, someone else would be involved, just curious if Bev or a pick is more valuable. Gordon + Beverly + Houston's 1st Rounder or Gordon + 1st rounder (via Beverly trade to another team) + Houston's 1st rounder
