LOL yeah, I guess he's not gone yet even though I immediately started thinking of him as gone once we made the pick for Foreman
Well Arian Foster didn't actually break a ton of tackles, he just used his vision and footwork to hit the holes for big gains. Actually seems like a Kubiak type of back. I'd be ok with that. He should be an instant contributer who can help limit Lamar Miller carries to a reasonable amount. On passing downs he won't be in much.
Anyone who compares Foreman with Foster debases their intellect. Foster was Earl-like moving thru the line of scrimmage.
His contract has weight incentives. No Pappadeux, Whataburger, Killens BBQ till after playoff elimination.
No idea how his game will translate on the NFL stage, but super excited to be able to continue to watch him play. He and, for the first half of the season, Buechelle were the only players worth watching on Texas' offense last year. Hopefully he can be as good of a power runner in the NFL as he was in college. I'm excited about watching our young guys this year!
As long as he doesn't suffer through injuries, I think he will be one of the best picks in the draft. People don't realize how fast he is with that huge frame. Also, he is very good at run blocking. The one issue in today's offense that he could be better at is on the receiving end. Is he good enough to compensate for a shitty offensive line? We shall see, but it is an exciting pickup and it wasn't a reach, it was a great opportunistic pick up
If you think about it his broken foot may be more effected by his weight. So it should be that much more of a concern. He's got time to get his conditioning in though, so I don't see him going full blown Eddie Lacy on us in his rookie season.
Pretty remarkable what he did at 250 last season. Really excited to see what he can do if he can get into and maintain NFL shape.
I dunno, I seem to remember Foster always breaking the initial contact, especially in his first year. Had more to do with finesse/breaking through arm tackles though.
Have heard almost nobody in the media bring this up. I wonder what the status is on his foot and will he be ready for camp.
So far all the reports I've heard are of him saying he'll be ready. I guess we'll have to wait and see for sure.
Lol McClain said that and these other Texans blogs are jumping all over this like it's factual. Lol Come on man
