if we trade for PG we'd be able to give him a 5 year max, and he'd be on a contending team playing with a star in Harden that's around his age...if that still isn't good enough for him and he'd still prefer to go to the Lakers then...
Lol did he really say that?? Wow. 24 is retired from Moses. 13 is already Harden's for 5 seasons and he's a bigger star and market machine than you and you say no to a trade to play with him b/c you can't wear your number? He was 24 in college and only #13 for 2 seasons based on a stupid nickname. PG13? Rated PG13 is so important to your legacy? Just choose Kobe's first #8 and get over it. James Harden did change his brand logo to a JH instead of the 13, so maybe he doesn't even care and would change for ....ugh...PG13. I'm so sick and tired of today's prima donna NBA superstars. If you're joking, i obviously can't even catch on b/c you can't put this kind of stuff above today's divas.
if all they're going to get is other expiring contracts, why would they even make the trade. Need to throw in something to bridge the talent gap or it's pointless for them.
Not difficult to orchestrate this. What immediately comes to mind is that we have several veterans who Thibs would kill to have, and they must be willing to part with some young talent. Detroit, Milwaukee and Charlotte come to mind too. We can then flip that for George. Bev, Ariza, Lou are not interesting to a rebuilding team, but incredible assets for a team prioritizing wins. Everyone is going to offer more than the Lakers. Teams who are not near contention will not waste assets, which brings us down to Rockets, Spurs, Celtics. If the Celtics are not in play, we have a great chance. We can definitely convince him to stay with a team playing at the top of the Western Conference over signing with the Lakers for the same amount and with players not ready to contend. The sweetener here of course is, if we can convince George to come, imo we jump into the lead for top tier FA's. Here we have to see if, for example, we can dump Anderson's contract + our 2 2nd rounders or a future first for cap space. Can Morey pull it off? We would almost certainly end up with insufficient depth, but that's totally fine of course. You can spend another year filling out that roster. We don't have to win it all for George to re-sign, we just have to be able to compete with the Warriors.
I suppose the dream scenario is a three way trade for PG13 and a three way S&T (using Anderson and Beverley/Gordon/Lou) for CP3 that gets him close to his max. Picks and prospects added liberally to both trades. CP3/Lou Harden/Lou George/Wiltjer ???/Wiltjer Capela/Nene Then rely on veteran ring chasers, 2nd round finds and Morey magic to fill the Wiltjer-sized holes in the rotation.
Bev and ariza to Minnesota Lavine hou '18 1st to Indiana George to Houston Bev and ariza hou '18 1st to deteoit #12 and Tobias to indiana George to Houston Bev and ariza to milwaukee Jabari and hou '18 1st to indiana George to Houston You could possibly substitute lou in some scenarios.
The insanity is you could have all this amd still GSW would wipe the floor 4-1 vs the above Rockets team
Just wow. The utter stupidity that this outlandish post reeks. Harden for his lack of defense is a level above PG. You offer the Pacers Harden even if they thought PG was staying they would still be all over it. Harden will most likely finish second in the MVP race. Was the first picked 1st all NBA team as is regarded at worst top 4 player. Put the crack pipe down son. Harden has pretty much made the Rockets better every year he has been here. People tend to forget the team prior to Harden getting here was bound to tank for a LOTTO PICK and all of a sudden Harden fell in our lap a couple of weeks prior to the season.
He already declared he wants to go to Lakers next season. Why would you do everything for a rental? How do you plug the holes if you send 2-3 starters out for him?
That's what i expect the Rockets to offer. Who knows what other teams have on the table, imo there're multiple teams willing to offer more , but if he's not willing to resign, they'll not pull the trigger...teams like Denver, Phoenix, i just don't see them making this kind of move...Boston on the other hand is probably waiting for Hayward and/or talking with Chicago for Butler. Seems like this might be the perfect situation for us...
If the Rockets get Chris Paul and Paul George to Houston there better not be any bloody empty seats in the Toyota Center.
Other than the fact that PG isn't on Harden's level as a player and it's not debatable, the stupidest part of his post is that PG's value is at an all time low yet he'd hand them Harden in a trade. Like, how stupid can u possibly be?
