Prime Shaq>>>>>>>>>>Paul George so yeah, he'd win a ring playing with Shaq, but Shaq would be the clear reason why they won. A lot of players would win a ring playing next to prime Shaq even if they're not legit franchise players/upper echelon superstars.

Maybe he'd squeak out a ring playing with that Gasol/Bynum front line. Maybe.

Paul George is an all star, but that's pretty much it.

    Childhood dreams, nothing more.

The Lakers are a traditional power house but like every team they have to go through the same process of building a playoff team, then contender.

They are in No man's land and only a semi playoff team with PG as the face of the Franchise.

PG will grasp how tough the Wild West really is!

it's like when Melo would say that he's staying in NY because he wants to win when it was really because of the money and getting to live in NYC/play in a big market

That's fine, in that case, there's really only LeBron and Kevin Durant as the 2 LEGIT "superstars" that can make any team a contender.

Curry and Klay on their own couldn't do anything. Harden can't do anything. Westbrook can't. PG13 can't do anything. Anthony Davis can't do anything. Boogie too. CP3 and Blake Griffin together can't even get out of the 2nd round. Could Kawhi do anything if he stayed drafted by the Pacers? Probably not.

That said, Paul George is rare legit 2 way All-Star. Most of todays "All-Stars" are all offense and average to below average D. I value those 2 way guys more, and though i think Jimmy Butler is not as good as Paul George, i can see the case for saying they're both just "all-stars." Both of them together? Definitely a championship caliber nucleus with the right coaching and system and role players. Them two together has potential top 3 offensive and defensive team material and that's always good enough to win a championship.

At this point, i've already accepted James Harden won't be a #1 or #2 option on a championship team because the guys who could help him win as a #2 option like Anthony Davis, etc are impossible pipe dreams. We can't keep Harden happy for much longer.

Still calling it. Paul George and James Harden will be teammates for the Lakers within the next few seasons.

Clippers have no way of getting Paul George, unless they let CP3 AND Blake walk right? I'd rather see him go to the Lakers instead of teaming up with CP3 and Blake. But, if PG13 goes to the Clippers without CP3 and Blake, awesome. That'd be his team and they could build around him and DJ as the defensive anchor. Nice, but not scary threatening for the rest of the west. At that point, you'd hope CP3 and Blake both went to the EAST though.

Those guys can't win a chip on their own, but PG still isn't in their class as a player. PG will never come close to winning a MVP. He'll never be considered a top 5 player. He's not on the level of a Harden, Westbrook, Kawhi, Curry, etc. These guys are on a completely different tier when compared to Paul George.

Yeah, he's a 2-way guy, but at his absolute best he's a borderline top 10 player. With the other guys that u mentioned, there's no question of whether or not they belong in the top 10 or even top 5. There's just a clear seperation between him and those other guys.

I hate to say it, but Harden may very well end up thinking that it would be best for him to head out to LA :(

Our chances of getting another star are not that good, and if the Lakers can get PG, then that's already better than what Morey has been able to acquire down in Houston. Plus, it would help his reputation a lot if he's a part of the reason why the Lakers return to glory.

I'd trade Dekker, Ariza, Harrell and Anderson for a 1 year rental of Paul George... idk if he walks to Lakers in 2018.

One year you could make finals. If he walks you still have max cap to sign another fellow
Like Stanley Johnson, Winslow, Morris Parsons and rebuild ur team similar to this seasons.

Think about a 1 year run with
    PG
    Capela/nene
    George
    Casspi?
    Bev
    Harden
I legit think we can take warriors to 7 or possibly win the west
    It's worth the risk

Oh dont worry about it. There are 50 million dollars reasons for Harden to extend.

^^ None of the above contradicts that he's planning on leaving in 2018.

"Paul George" is written out 8 times in those 11 sentences.

But just to be clear, who are they talking about?

Man, I would take Paul George over Harden any day. His game has evolved and he is getting better yearly. Harden's game has remain relatively the same. I didn't know he had a jump shot and he is beginning to actually look TMac-esque with good defense.

Your pipedream ends when we send out Ryan "Mental Midget" Anderson and get back Paul George.

Harden to the Lakers in 2019 if Morey can't get another legit star to Houston soon

"Between then and now, the pressure will mount for the Pacers to formulate a trade with the Lakers in the near future, because the risk of losing a star of George’s stature for nothing next summer is potentially devastating. If management takes George at his word about wanting to join the Lakers in 2018, it may be cornered into making the best possible trade it can with Los Angeles now, squeezing whatever value out of the Lakers that Indiana can acquire in a deal for George.

The Pacers could bring back young players – such as forward Julius Randle, for example – and future draft assets to make a deal for George now, if the two teams are so inclined.

Nevertheless, the Lakers can create the necessary salary-cap space to sign George next summer and won’t be compelled to make a dramatic offer to Indiana now.

Indiana’s ability to find a trade for George elsewhere has become increasingly limited, if not crippled, because NBA teams believe that it’s George’s intention to eventually sign with the Lakers as a free agent in 2018."

Bobby Marks: Keep in mind that the Lakers do not have max money ($30.6) next summer to sign Paul George outright. LAL would need to move one of their large contracts (Deng, Mozgov, Clarkson) or not bring back Julius Randle to create the room.

Julius Randle LOL ... so which team(s) will take the risk trading for him without a commitment?

We need to pounce on him. Yeah he prefers the lakers but if he joins a team with the likes of harden an cp3 I think he would change his mind.
This years and next years first round picks and Anderson and Lou
