Be glad Rockets management is legitimately trying to topple the Warriors instead of standing pat and just taking your money like many other teams.
It's borderline delusional. Nobody is toppling the Warriors 999 times out of 1000. But having a fun to watch regular season + 2nd round playoffs run is good enough for me; go for it Morey!
The Cleveland Cavaliers with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, and a bunch of miracle moves for competent role players (that didn't show up in the finals, but competent nonetheless) only took one game from the Warriors. I would love the Rockets to win, I'm also not a delusional homer that thinks the Rockets are two stars and a gutted, nonexistent bench away from becoming the greatest team in NBA history.
This is exactly it. All it takes it one freak accident and then the teams that set themselves up as the vultures can swoop in for a chance. Cleveland with LeBron is deadset on playing those odds. Spurs are another. Rockets can be the third team, especially if the Clips decide to give up on their core. I'll take our odds in a four way race with a gimped Warriors.
The funny thing is, is that Morey hasn't came out and said this. There is no official report, or rockets report or plan on this. No mainstream media guys are saying anything about this. It's legit him, just using confirmation bias to lash out at who he doesn't like and justify his disdain for Morey. This is just a rumor of what Morey is hoping to plan. This isn't what Morey is telling the public or anybody for that matter. The hate is real
