Which is why we should trade him now!! :)

    Here's my NBA2k scenarios.

Harden for Fultz, the Nets #1 pick next year and Jaylen Brown. Use the Nets pick next year and the Rockets own pick - which will be high - to select Michael Porter and Luka Doncic.

Gordon + Anderson to the Wolves for LaVine, the Wolves #7 pick this year and agree to take on the salaries of Pekovic, Aldrich, and Jordan Hill. The Wolves played better after LaVine went down, Gordon provides a similar skill set anyway, and Anderson could be a good fit next to KAT.

Use PBev and Ariza as trade bait.

Young assets would be Fultz, Jaylen Brown, #7 pick this year (Mon, Isaac, Tatum, Smith Jr...?), Nets #1 next year, Rockets own #1 next year (which would be a lottery pick), LaVine, Capela.

We'd suck for 2-3 years than be very well situated if you draft well. 76ers rebuild in 1/3 the time, with players less injured!

    :)

"If they stay healthy..." --> I get tired of hearing/saying that about our players. ;)

If Yao, Tracy, Beverley, Gordon. Anderson, Nene, etc. stay healthy, we'll be in great shape!"

Fans were concerned about Anderson & games missed (he did play in 72, better than expected here) but Gallo ain't much better in that department. Maybe Keith Jones can get 73 games out of him. :p

    DG: 63(2016/17) - 53 - 59 - DNP - 71 - 43 - 62 - 81 - 28 (460 games; 390 started)
    RA: 72(2016/17) - 66 - 61 - 22 - 81 - 61 - 64 - 63 - 66 (556 games; 231 started)

...but in the grand scheme, swapping Anderson for Gallo, still a 55ish win team (not a bad thing), with similar salaries. Mehhh...

...and here is his game log at Toyota Center. I don't think we'll need to pussify the Toyota Center or it's practice facilities for Gallo (but nothing special either). (@FTW Rockets FTW)

You have to let Harden know what the plan is. Ask him to be realistic. If the best player in the world basically hand picks his team and that team then goes on to be manhandled in the finals by the Warriors what can we realistically do right now to compete? Ask him to be patient and trust the process.

Trust the process of what? competing for a Championship when he's 31? Screw that. Let's get some young pieces and a top 3 first rounder for him and they might be ready in 3 years.

    Same time window.

Point taken. But you have Harden lovers who swear if we let Harden go we'll never be competitive again. I would trade him in a heartbeat for the right package.

So Gallo is the top target, eh? Gonna have to move Anderson's salary or Williams salary to get that done.

is this thread a joke? i've been eyeing this girl i work with a long time, but she's married, so all i'll ever get to do is "eye", which is all Morey will ever get to do. Isn't there a separate thread set up for magical thinking or dreamcasting?

Gallo would clearly be an upgrade on Anderson and likely around the same salary. Gallo has an injury history but so does Anderson. Both are bad defensively but at least Gallo is a bit more consistent and has a more varied offensive game.

The team still would have to improve in the "facilitator" department, as well as defense/rebounding in the front court.

Nothing shocking really, it's pretty obvous to expect Hayward to end up in Boston all things considered...at least that could help us be a bit closer to George going forward...maybe.

As for the Rockets, the very "best" we can somehow expect is probably something like this:

    1. trade Lou and fillers to open up enough cap space for Gallo or Holiday (who's probably getting a max by NOLA though)

    2. sign & trade Anderson (with filler salary if needed -> and possible) for Millsap or just dump the salary to sign Ibaka (who's probably going to get something close to a max by Toronto)

If Gordon goes to Boston or Miami and Griffin goes somewhere else, that could really help out the Rockets be thinning out competition in the West. So I am all for that.

Rockets goal next year is to get the #2 seed, home court, and stay as far away from GSW as they can until the WCF.

While it might thin the herd for the Rockets, it does the same for the GSW and Spurs... and is perhaps even more beneficial for the Spurs as then CP3 to Spurs becomes a more realistic possibility.

Yeah right, we are a distant third as is. Rockets need to make a splash or ill be box score watching strictly next year. Ain't nobody got time for the NBA.

that seeding makes no difference especially when the only goal is to avoid gsw. you play them whenever because that's the team to beat regardless. the rockets were on the opposite side of their bracket this year and still couldn't even make it to them even with injuries to the other team
