If I was single and had the money I'd buy a helicopter. I'm pretty sure you'd never strike out at a bar if you were like... so wanna check out the chopper?

If you're rich enough, and you have a massive personal interest in investing time (more time than you're saving) in that slice of aviation, sure.

If it's just for practicality, vs. having a driver or something, or just not going anywhere, no way. If you have enough money, you don't have to go anywhere anyway.

10 million in the bank with enough income to cover the Helicopter and the rest of your expenses without cutting into you savings.

If the average upkeep in 100k per year, thats 1 million in 10 years, plus lets say you buy a decent Helicopter that cost 500k. That's 15% of your wealth gone in 10 years if you're income isn't covering the yearly expenses. I personally wouldn't feel conferable with anything more then that.

And as a completely broke person, this is all hypothetically coming out of my ass.

well depends on your route, how much time are you really saving since I imagine having to find spots to park your helicopter, getting in it and getting it started and such takes time. If you were in LA with traffic at every hour then yea, but in Houston when it's only bad during rush hour, maybe not worth it. You'd have to do a how much time versus what you think your time is worth and see if it's worth it

Personally I rather spend the money on an exotic car

If it's a Bell 222 made to look like Airwolf no justification is needed.

VTOL systems are notoriously bad in terms of stability and nothing on their website describes a technological breakthrough that addresses that problem.

Attaching 12 tilting ducts to the wings does not solve the thrust issues with takeoff weight especially during hovering. That requires military grade engines with dedicated thrust vectoring to maintain stability.

This is all a ruse using ideas and catch phrases like electric engine to generate buzz. EEs don't generated enough thrust to make this a viable option.

Therefore, chalk this one up to heaps flying death machines that never took off.
