Hayward would cause Harden's competitive spirits (especially in the Play Offs) to rise to another level like no other if somehow acquired. He's basically 'white' T-Mac in some aspects. But it is idiotically intrusive to want another team's star player with almost no leverage of convincing him to come.
Why would he leave Utah where he's the lead man to where he'd be a sidekick to James or for a chance to go play for his old coach in Boston
If he thinks we're the best team he can join then that would be the only reason. My guess is he stays in Utah because of the money and they're still a really good team
Both create, both can slash, both have a jump shot... They do play similar. Both are above average athleticism and b-ball IQ combo for their size.
Having both would be neat. Harden to help with the regular season, while Hayward will motivate Harden for the Post Season.
Surrounded my shooters in the MDA system he would be a different beast. But then again he currently got Gorbert, Hood and a supporting cast that is formidable as well. IDK. Well people are desperate and he's the best star available to help this team.
He tells the truth tho in his last two words. Morey has to know - Donuts, Cronuts and Cupcakes are the easier to get for his triple chin than several FAs.
I agree Hayward doesn't change much. Same goes for Jimmy Butler. Same goes for Paul Millsap. Kyle Lowry. Blake Griffin. Anyone who is realistically available won't change anything but perhaps make us WCF fodder for GS. I disagree about Paul George though. He's definitely a game changer, and at that point with PG and JH on the same team, a third guy of Millsap caliber and good role players is enough to steal a championship in the superteam era IMO.
He would still be a huge get for the Rockets and help push this team forward imo. I'm hoping this happens.
The only guys that put the Rockets on the map of the WCF consistently are Lebron, Durant, Kawhi, Curry. Davis, KAT as talented as those are have virtually no playoff experience. CP3 is a good player for a couple of years. Russell WB is an interesting option but he has to adapt his game more. Everyone else will probably get us one more win in the playoffs. Small to none difference..
I don't disagree. I was just responding to people that made it seem like Hayward would be able to be the man in the playoffs. Harden would still be handling the ball and directing the offense especially down the stretch.
Yes, he'd be a great "get". But he's from Indiana, plays in Utah. Has his former college coach ensconced as coach of an NBA team really on the rise in Boston. It helped that Hayward didn't make one of the All NBA teams, given that the Jazz can't pay him the super-stupor max now. It'd be tough seeing him leave Utah for any team other than the Celtics, unless he wants to be the clear 1B star of a team.
