Hard to admit as a Rockets fan, but there's not a better fit this offseason than Heyward and Boston. Boston doesn't have to drop any assets to sign him, they have the #1 seed in the East to sell, the Stevens connection, etc. I'd actually be a little surprised if he didn't sign with Boston over even Utah. If they get him, don't be surprised if they skip right past George/Butler and go for Davis....dont laugh, they have the assets to do it. Thomas/Heyward/Davis/Horford would vault them into the GSW/CLE tier.
pretty sure at this point you offer him the sun, the stars and the moon and hope you get to sign him. rockets in a tough place with 1 superstar that can't attract another...
Yup, seems about right. If we could get him on the cheap I would be thrilled. Mike D'Antoni discount?
I don't think it's that dumb. Hayward was an All-Star this season. He had some pretty damn good games in the playoffs. He can create his own shot. He can hit from midrange and beyond the arc. He's athletic and a terrific finisher at the rim. He's a good free throw shooter. And he actually tries at the defensive end. I don't see Hayward coming here, but if he did, I could easily envision him handling the ball late in games instead of James.
there is no scenario in which Hayward would become the best player on a team that included Harden unless Harden went down with some injury and was no longer the same player afterwards...it's an incredibly dumb statement Hayward was an all star for the 1st time, Harden finished 2nd in the MVP race for the 2nd time for all of Hayward's trying on defense, Harden's offense alone still makes him far better...
And that's another reason why i have a difficult time thinking he comes here, he has way more chances to handle the ball in Boston, early and in late game situations.
