Not blaming the poor performance on the crowd but most of the lower bowl was empty at tip off. Even before the spurs ran away with it, the crowd was just dead from the get go. Anyone at the game who could explain what that was all about?

That was also an embarrassment. It sounded like a library at tip off. Hundreds of empty seats most of the game.

Pretty common occurrence from what I understand. Apparently lower bowl mostly reserved for business parties and such.

It's normally empty during the regular season and after that travesty of OT in game 5, you'd expect ppl to show up? Even with $1 beer and hotdogs they offered, no one was coming.

The cost of playoff tickets is to blame. If they want to fill the stadium with real, energetic fans who will show up early, they would make seats more affordable. That is not the team's priority, however.

Thats more empty than it is on a regular season game. I been to one playoff game this year and it was well packed by 650...

Crowd didn't show up and quite frankly, neither did we. - Mike

But really, same ol', same ol'.

    Traffic
    Work
    Ticket prices
    blahblahblah

Sorry Rockets, the CoH just isn't that into you.

Mike Breen noted how empty the arena was to start the game on the broadcast.

he said something like "wow, this is a late arriving crowd"

still, its a playoff game and season on the line. why wouldn't people show up? i don't expect fans to give up that easily. this crowd was no different from a regular season crowd. they even made new shirts lol

    its gotta be the traffic

Couldn't care less about that. If the Rockets build a real contender that doesn't quit after the slightest adversity then the fans will come.

Did you watch games 3 and 4? It was pretty empty then, too.

Ticket prices was probably the reason or they might get tired of Rockets not winning championship for awhile...I miss 1990s, I remember there were so many sold out energetic crowd.

    This decade, not so much...

I did not watch the whole series because I know Rockets would not play so well , so why bother? I am waiting for 3rd championship. I am waiting for Rockets to draft Stephen Curry alike player.

I didn't notice it being nearly as empty for those games. Clearly Houston doesn't care about showing up on time though, I'm just saying I don't care about the fan situation, I just care about the team.

The Toyota Center was designed to make money from suites, corporate partners, concessions and beer.

    The Summit was great

Lower the ticket prices and that place would be jumping and packed like the Summit
