I know you guys want some stats behind the assignments! It doesn't look favorable if you want a game with more whistles. The CLE/TOR game would have been a much better crew for us. San Antonio slowed us down in game two by closing in on shooters and playing physical (aka shoving & pushing) in the paint to go along with Gasol & LMA's length. Game one saw 10 more total fouls called and a whopping 30 more free throws. Given that the Spurs played even more physical than game one, how the game is called plays a big factor. I'd like to see the Rockets come out with physical defense of their own. As far as the assignments go, we got three refs who just don't call many fouls. With that said, they do tend to call more fouls on the road team (less calls means more variance). Even with more home calls, the home winning percentages are lower. Measuring by weighted average, this crew is going to call about 2 less fouls per game than the crew assigned to the Cleveland/Toronto game. Stats and sources below! Absolute nightmare crew for Harden and Lou. 13 total foul calls in a half. TOR/CLE crew got their weighted average foul calls at 41. It's gonna get chippy soon.
no student of the game can watch this bullshit and not come to the conclusion that this league is a rigged farce
Wat kind offfense is that? Harden hold the damn ball for 12 seconds, move the ball, everybody just standing there watches
Even with some intentional fouls they totaled 35. Swallowed whistles means a loss for us. I'll do another analysis when we get the next ref lineup. The stats predicted how the flow of this game was going to go.
