Question Hinch going with Sipp in a close game with a rested pen. Don't care if they had lefties coming up there are better choices in the pen than Sipp especially in a close game.
But sending Strom out after first man on then the hook after the second shows promise although that didn't quite workout.
I'm with you--though at the same time, if he never gets a shot in close games, it'll suck if he suddenly needs to do it. There's been some talk of him being better than last year this time around. I'd like to know if it's true.. so far it isn't looking like it. Outings like this can help push the FO to go get a great lefty in the pen (whereas crappy mopup duty doesn't as much) But that's super long-term thinking, which is more just trying to find the upside I guess
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. You walk Santana there, who's hitting about .400 with RISP, you get to face Lindor. eta: I was praying Sipp would return to form but he looks the same as last year so far to me. I would imagine Luhnow will be working on that in the next few weeks.
Yeah, Carlos looking at those first 2 FBs, especially the outside one, was probably not a good strategy against Miller. He battled back well. McCann had no chance.
