The "Rockets beat reporter" position is unlikely to be filled. But I am sure there will be someone from ESPN covering the series. I mean, Ramona Shelburne was covering the Rockets/Thunder series as well, though more from the Thunder side. duh.
Did she put aside those 3 hotdogs before reporting or did she just hurry up guzzle them down beforehand?
wow, ethan strauss? even cutting the warriors guy? I used to hate ethan, probably because I hate the warrirors, but I grew to like him on truehoop. radio ethan's take on dwade shooting during the Canadian national anthem in last year's playoffs was hysterical.
Justin Verrier for New Orleans is gone too. My guess is that a a couple writers will become region specific rather than team specific. Tim McMahon, Royce Young will probably take turns covering okc, mavs, jazz, spurs, rockets...
Up here in Dallas Jean-Jacques Taylor was also let go along with Ed Werder. It's getting really tough out there...
Thought I heard a huge purge was coming to ESPN ... Supposedly many household names will be released. Network financial struggles or something like that, this must be the first tremor.
This sort of employee cutback was expected when they signed that nba tv rights deal, it was quite simply too much money, so they needed (and still need more) cuts in other places
When the question is "who is going to cover the Rockets now"... One has to ask, what coverage was he providing? I mean Im not an avid ESPN reader, but I din't see much...?
Lol I literally JUST changed my mind about the guy. Probably fired for saying something pro harden. Maybe that's why @swyyyguy hates harden, he doesn't want to get fired from Burger King
